Fire elemental druids in pvm?

Is it possible for them to fare well in PVM namely any kind of mfing/countess running or are they best left as duelers?

fissure will kill pretty fast with conviction merc or even without one. You're a bit screwed vs fire immunes though. The physical damage from volcano and flame ball is terrible and doesnt kill very fast. With a strong merc you could pull it off

so basically it's only good when decked out like a lightning sorc/infinity merc?

Too many fire immunes in hell that conviction won't break and after that volcano simply doesn't work fast enough for a mfer.

In pvm there are very, very few builds that can square up to a light sorc with infinity merc when it comes to mass slaughter. Probably only javazon and hammerdin. There are lots of places you could mf very effectively nevertheless though if you were well equipped enough. Nihlathak, summoner, Andy, Meph, eldritch/shenk, hell flayer, mausoleum (or is it crypt? 1 of them is lvl 85 with no FIs), half of act 5. You wouldn't be as efficient as an equivalently geared fire sorc. Or is this a question about how easy untwinked solo progression is or something?

Fire elemental/Summon hybrid works OK in PvM, but it's not that strong for MF'ing.
