Fines in school zones In a neighboring town the fines for speeding in a school zone is being raised up from $10 to $100. To complicate matters, the town has three different school zones signs. One says from 7 am to 4:30 pm One says when children are present One says when the light is flashing What do you think about this? Are higher fines the way to slow people down? Or do you think the city is just getting more revenue? I think it's a good idea but lacks the proper financial "incentive" First offense - $250 fine Second offense - $400 fine Third offense - vehicle impounded. They call the cab company The first two offenses take care of the people to whom the money means something. There are people though that even $400 is chump change. Those people are the ones with the expensive toys. The Hummers, the BMWs, etc. The money may not mean much to them, but the loss of their toy would be.
