Finding Ilvl25-39 items?

Looking at the stat pages, it says that a 25-39 ilvl Berserker Axe would yeild a max of 5 sockets. So my question is, how do I find them? I'm not sure what mlvl I need to go after, nor what difficulty setting they're in, and I'm clueless about area levels in all of this.. some help please? :)

ilvl is determined by the level of the monster that drops it. the monsters level is determined by what area its in. look for the 'area levels' section in the above link and itll show you what areas are what levels. unfortunately ilvl 25-39 is from act3 normal to ac1 nightmare and berserker axe cant drop there.

Ba has quality lvl 85 and belongs to highest TC - 87. It can be droped only in areas 85 by monsters or chests B or C in A5).

That means there is no such thing like an ilvl 25-39 BA. However, you can try the socketing recipe with any non-magical, non-superior, non-cracked, unsocketed BA you find.

That means... in order to lower ba´s ilvl :D

I'm not sure what you mean  My statement included BAs modified by cube recipes. There is no way to change the ilvl of a nonmagical BA to 25-39. You can create an ilvl 1 BA from a cracked one (which will get 4 sockets then) and all other ilvl-changing recipes or other processes work with magical or rare items only or will turn it into one.

Area levels are not used in normal difficulty; you'll need to find a monster table with mlvls.

EDIT: fixed quote

Oh, sorry, Krishan! This time I was in a hurry, I didn´t read your post carefully enough I missanderstood you and I wrote rubbish :D

I thought that you thought about MAGICAL weapon + 3 flawless recipe, reducing ilvl to 60%. This discussion was of course about normal ba so... sorry.

Which sets the Ilvl to 25.

The "magical weapon + 3 flawless gems" changes the ilvl to 30 according to Arreat Summit (which I regard as correct with respect to cube recipes... so far, at least). The recipe with 3 chipped gems makes it to 25 which seems to be the only difference between these two.

Do you mean that this recipe sets all item´s ilvl to 25 and not reduces it to 60% as it is stated in v1.10 Beta Recipes ?
That information from diabloii.net is outdated.

Not just outdated, but never actually right :)
The 1.10 beta recipes were the same as the final version.

They're correct, just missing bits of information sometimes. It's indeed Ilvl 30 for 3 flawless/normal recipes, and 25 for chips.

For the sake of completeness:

With respect to affixes, the ilvl is replaced by the item's base qlvl if the ilvl os lower (which is the point of using these recipes at all) and the possible affixes depend on the affix level which will be calculated from these numbers. See here for a detailed description. I copied the formulas out of another thread which made a good impression to me, and there wasn't any feedback on my posting, so perhaps there is still something wrong with it. In short it says you need an item with a base qlvl of 66 or higher in order to have a chance to get the best affixes.

3. 30<99-21/2 is true, so alvl=ilvl-qlvl/2=15.
It seems to me that it should be
3. 25<99-21/2 is true, so alvl=ilvl-qlvl/2=15.

It´s just a typo anyway without any importance for your conclusions. If you want a feedback after almost 5 month - ok - I couldn´t find anything wrong there :)

Be advised that Staffmods still use the ilvl alone, and not the qlvl (which is why these recipes will not give tier one staffmods).

Is it just about staffs or even orbs and necro´s wands?

If you've been reading that page for Cube recipies, it's no wonder you're having trouble finding out how to socket a Zerker axe to get the # of sockets you want...that page says that the socketing recipies all give max sockets possible, which is true of Larzuk, but not true of cube socketing. [rant]Does anybody maintain the web site here? Merman's Sprocket my foot![/rant]

The cube socket recipies will roll a number from 1-6, and then give you that many sockets in the item. If the item can't have as many sockets as the recipie rolled, then it will give you whatever the max number of sockets for that item is, so for a lot of items you'll have a high chance of getting the maximum # of sockets (e.g. most armors have a 50% chance of getting 4 sockets, because 3/6ths of the time, it will roll 4, 5, or 6). I suppose you're ISO a 5os Zerker, which means you need to find a normal (not superior, not cracked, but can be eth, and will stay eth if it started out eth) Zerker axe, put it in your cube with the right runes/gem, cross your fingers, and hit the button. You've got a 1 in six chance of getting what you want.
