Finally! The Septivirate is complete! - Patriarch Shuyin

I am so happy right now. Finally, I have completed my personal Septivirate! Shuyin was the last, but certainly not least, to be Patriarched.

Patriarch Shuyin
Level: 75

Stats: (all base)
Strength: 105
Dexterity: 20
Vitality: 240
Energy: 95

Equipment:
Helm: Jalal's Mane Totemic Mask
Amulet: Gaian Amulet (+3 to Elemental Skills)
Weapon: Earthshaker Battle Hammer
Armor: Skin of the Vipermagi Serpentskin Armor
Shield: Stormshield Monarch (Hel Rune)
Gloves: Frostburn Gauntlets
Ring 1: Bul Kathos' Wedding Band Ring
Belt: Thundergod's Vigor War Belt
Ring 2: Raven Frost Ring
Boots: Aldur's Advance Battle Boots
Charms: 2 Large Charms with life bonuses, 3 Small Charms with random bonuses.

Skills:
20 Cyclone Armor
19 Twister
20 Tornado
20 Hurricane
1 Summon Grizzly
1 in all pre-requisites

If there's one thing I've learned doing this, it's this. I am NOT a Druid player. I am horrible at them. But I did it out of sheer persistence anyway. The Crystalline Passage was horrible, everything was either PI (Blood Lords) or CI (Frozen Creepers, Skeleton Mages, Succubi). It drove me insane. Once I got through there, I hit another snag. The Ancients. I think I rerolled them close to 20 times, before I switched out some equipment. 2 more times, and I finally pulled through. After that, WSK was somewhat hard, Gloams presented a problem on the Throne level, and Lister himself being Mana Burn hurt, but after much perseverance, I pulled through. Baal was a cakewalk; Kelpie and Hurricane made him a kitten.

So, with that being said, this is a list of my Matriarchs/Patriarchs, in the order they completed Hell.

Lenne - Level 91 Frozen Orb/Fireball Sorceress
Maximo - Level 81 Whirlwind/Concentrate Barbarian
Seymour - Level 84 Summoning Necromancer
Paine - Level 77 Trap Assassin
Rikku - Level 85 Lightning Fury Amazon
Cloud - Level 75 Blessed Hammer Paladin
Shuyin - Level 75 Hurricane/Tornado Druid

I'm going to have a nice toast to my accomplishment now. Whoo-hoo! :drink:

Congratulations that's pretty cool..I also thought my Wind Druid was difficult to play and I have nowhere near the same gear that you have..Physical Immune are indeed very nasty and annoying. Why not Oak Sage?? I know it dies very easily but a 1 point wonder.

@Chimaira - I had Oak Sage, I just didn't list it, as it is a pre-req for Grizzly. I specified 1 in all pre-reqs, and that covered it.

Of course how stupid of me...Do you have any wisdom on keeping it alive...it seems to die all the time.

Good job. Just a query, how are the levels so low? I almost always end up with a finished character at 84-85.

If you don't do many leveling/mf runs and aren't always /players 8 (and can survive) you would get to Baal in the late 60s. Trappers I know can Guardian that low so his level doesn't seem out of place. I haven't finished a windy or Hammerdin so I can't speak for those.

@Chaotic Twitch - Weird builds. Lots and lots of strange builds. I just have to think of some of the off-the-wall things to play. :D

It seems 7 twinked mat/pat's is now called a Septivirate ?

Last time I heard that term it was related to 7 untwinked guardians doing all quests and clearing all area's once. Its rather sad that Septivirate is now used for a softcore achievement.

That's just stupid. In d2 terms getting a Septivirate is just a pat/mat of each class depending on your play style. I could get a SC, twinked septivirate, fair enough it wouldn't be as great as having 7 guardians but it's still a Septivirate.

you could of atleast congratulated aswell

Ok ok. Congratulations on completing softcore, now you better move on to the real game :)

@corax: maybe you dont remember the Septivirate page that was made a long time ago. Aside that I would not call a softcore pat/mat series the same achievement as what e.g. AE is trying to accomplish. Frankly I dont think I would call anything in softcore an achievement but thats just me.

Malachi, why am I not surprised that this kind of snotty, holier-than-thou crap is coming from you? Nightfire05 stated up front that this was his personal Septavirate. No, it's not the same as the old school HC Septavirate that AE and others work on, but that makes it no less valid. Any time a personal goal is achieved, we as a community should celebrate it. It takes time, patience, and yes, some skill, to get seven pats/mats. I myself do not have the time nor the patience to get one from each class (I loathe the sorceress), so I applaud Nightfire05 for his achievement. Next time, Malachi, I might suggest a little more consideration and a lot less condescension. Or, as my momma always said, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
