    File Sharing Programs

I was wondering what peer-to-peer programs/sharing file programs you use currently, and which you find is the most effective (ie, fast download, little viruses, lots of files)

I used kazaa but found that most of the newer songs have been staticed, so i switched to limewire, just wondering what you guys use for movie, video, and audio download.

I have used Kazaa, imesh, and limewire. I have found that Limewire is the best one out of the three:not as much spyware, no annoying popups, better odds of finding a working version of the song/video/program that you are searching for.

... all I can say is that I agree with Keldaris... so far, Limewire is the best program I've used. Another thing you can do is find the file directly on the internet, and go "save target as"...

I use Azureus (latest version with decentralised tracking) for most things. For individual songs, I use Phex. It hooks into the Gnutella network, same as Limewire, but I don't like Limewire. I never liked the way it added "BUY ME NOW!" options to the Explorer Shell. Let me tell you, that was a ***** to find and remove in the registry.

I personally prefer Bittorrent and Direct Connect, with Bittornado and valknut/oDC, respectively.

I"m old fashioned this way. I prefer to handle these kinds of things by handing the other guy a cd personally. Typically over a beer at the local watering hole.

I started with IRC-fservs and ftp, moved to nntp, then Bittorrent. Still using Bittorrent, but I also use EDonkey a lot lately --- it's f*cking slow and unreliable, but for some things I just couldn't locate torrents...
