few quick questions

Hello guys(and gals, if any are here).

sorry bout this.. I'm new to the forums and er.... I wasnt realy sure where to post this, and this section is for newcomers... so... ^_^;

I was wondering, where would I post to ask the price of the some things? yes, I know there is a price thread, and I have been in it, however, you see, I suck at knowing the value of things, and I'd rather ask a few people how much stuff could I get that I want, for what I have to trade, befor I go and make an ISO list.... or should I Just go ahead and make an ISO list? ^_^;

I apologize if this is in the wrong place... I tried to look around to see a proper place for it and this was the closest I found... (it might belong in the items section... I'm not entirely sure...)

I believe you're looking for the Trade Values Forum. It's down mixed in with the other Trading forums.

The Trade Values Forum is actually pretty useless, I have a 1/20 success rate in it I think, but it's worth a shot if you can't find what you're looking for in a price guide. Most of the time you won't get a response there unless you need to know the value of "omgubergodly ebotd" or something, though.

Another way to get a price check is to post it in the trading forum you're at.
But most of the times you want to give it the following title:

[realm/ladder or non-ladder/hardcore?] PC (price check) + FT (for trade)
Doing it like this will probably give you a very nice indication of the value of the item and with a little bit of luck you'll also trade the item for what you can get for it.

dont rely too much on this. most people will just get upset and tell you "This belongs in the trade value forum!", and the thread tends to get locked. There is no good way to do price checks, Im afraid. Get a good friend, and ask him is the best way. works fine for me

The trade value forum just appears to be a bad place for estimations because the stickied threads answer 90% of all questions. These stickies are the result of activity on that forum in the past. The result obviously is that people look in the stickies first, so only questions for exotic stuff are actually asked.

well, see, I would rather do that, but, none of my friends know the value of the stuff, either, lol.

the price for jah isnt listed in the stickyd thread(atlest it wasnt when I checked last night) and thats one of the few things I have for trade, lol.

Well, another way to find out values of items is simply to just browse the trade forums. might sound boring, but by constantly browsing these, you will see what people give and expect for various items. Also, if you for example look for the value of a Jah rune, click the search function and simply search the trade forum(s) for people offering such runes and then watch what they go for. This is indeed the best method, even though it is a bit boring
