    Fear of trading

    How common are hacked items/runes.

I play ladder and am worried to trade for the fear of getting a duped item. I was just wondering if I should not worry and go with the trades. I figured if I trade for a rune to just use the rune quickly just to be safe.

    Thanks

The only things that are duped are high runes. There are no hacked items. Only trade for runes that you are needing to make runewords. If you can try and get lower runes such as if you are selling something worth 1 high rune trade for 2 lower runes that equals one high rune. But the chances of the rune poofing aren't very high, the best thing to do is put it on a mule and it won't poof very easily since it never goes ingame.

just get over it dude, if a rune poofs on you its no big deal.. just sigh and move on.. its diablo, the world wont end... if you're just entering the world of Hr's then i suggest only trading for them when you have a use for them right away.. because then you can't afford to have them poof on you.. but other than that dont sweat it...

    yes there are...

and then ure stuck with a bunch of mid runes that no1 wants... economy is on its way to making pul and um worthless....

Guess you have never heard of cubing runes up? And lots of people take those runes. Even more so on bnet.

Thanks. I was probably going to wait to get the rune until I could use it right away since it stops the need to go poof.

Maybe not on east. On west most people post an index that gives number values to each type of rune or key.

So if something has the number 120 attached to it they want a HR worth 120 or 2 Ums at 60 each. Lots of people accept that. And its pretty simple to cube 2 puls into an um and 2 ums into a mal. I do it all the time when I sell pul level items. I find lems all the time cube those into pul and then I just got a free um out of 1 pul level item.

don't trade for known dupes is one way to avoid the problem. for example, 90%+ of perfect 3/20/20 sc's are duped, however, you should be fairly safe with a 3/17/18 sc.

there are forums out there dedicated to legit play, the Barons Bazaar for one.

if your ok with using duped high-runes (eg: pretty much every HR you don't find yourself can be safely classed as a dupe), then i'd reccomend getting your base item and the low runes you need then using the HR as soon as possible.

    Re: Fear of trading

regarding runes and cube recipies, I compiled a table that shows how many runes of one type you need to get almost any rune of a higher type. I stopped at 6561 Thul runes to get a Ko rune:cool:

My question is... where should i post this table, and in what format?

    Thanks! (I'm n00b btw, :wink3:)

    Re: Fear of trading

same idea, but if one asks how many ko's for cham? that doesn't really tell it...

mine is in the following format:

    El Eld Tir ...
    Eld 3 - -
    Tir 9 3 -
    ...

But starting with thul, and no numbers after 65xx so probably a bit more useful.

It wouldn't be too hard to make a calculator for this. All you'd need is the number of jumps, and where it goes from powers of 3 to powers of 2.
    btw, I think about 55k (3^3)x(2^11) ko's for 1 cham rune...good luck.

On NL, I see way more people looking for an Um or Mal then a Jah or Ber.
