Some of my favorite TV themes are Doctor Who (of course), MASH, Cheers, Hill Street Blues. Even Deep Space 9 was pretty cool. That's all I can think of right now.

Favorite game theme is Morrowind. By far over any other. Even the incidental music was moody and atmospheric.

Diablo 2 theme song is pretty great too. Heard that so many times......

Are you thinking to watch the Classic series that ran from 1963 to 1989, or the new series that started in 2005? If you like old TV then by all means give it a try. But if dated sets and effects bother you, or if you cannot watch B&W TV (first several seasons were B&W) then start at 2005.

    Starcraft: Broodwar

If I understand right Blizzard titled this music piece as:

    ~Morituri te salutant~
    Translated as~
~In: Latin ~ Those about to Die salute you ~

Now this next one is the combination to some degree of the
SC1: Broodwar opening theme and that of the same music
that plays in the cinematic in SC2 above...

I have not Foggiest idea of which to go for in terms of watching either the most recent or going for the purist approach and watching the black and white series that started it all... How bout this.. What was your first encounter with the Doctor Who series and which one did you enjoy the most?... The black and white or the 2005 Doctor Who?...

    From the Amazon OT Thread...

    M.A.S.H. Theme.

Suicide Is Painless” is a song written by Johnny Mandel (music) and Mike Altman (lyrics), which is best known for having been featured as the theme song for both the movie and TV seriesM*A*S*H. The actual title is "Song from M*A*S*H (Suicide Is Painless)". Mike Altman is the son of the original film’s director, Robert Altman, and was 14 years old when he wrote the song’s lyrics. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in the 1980s, Robert Altman said that his son had earned more than a million US dollars for having co-written the song while he only made US$70,000 for having directed the movie.

The song was written specifically for Ken Prymus (the actor playing Private Seidman), who sang it during the faux suicide of Walter "Painless Pole" Waldowski (John Schuck) in the film's "Last Supper" scene.[1][2] Robert Altman had two stipulations about the song for Mandel: first, it had to be called "Suicide Is Painless"; second, it had to be the "stupidest song ever written".[3] Altman tried to write the lyrics himself, but found that it was too difficult for his 45-year-old brain to write "stupid enough".[4] Instead he gave the task to his 14-year-old-son, Michael, who apparently wrote the lyrics in five minutes.[5][6]

Altman later decided that the song worked so well, he would use it as the film's main theme, despite Mandel's initial objections.[7] This version was sung by uncredited session singers John Bahler, Tom Bahler, Ron Hicklin and Ian Freebairn-Smith (the vocals are sometimes misattributed to Johnny Mandel, due to his being the only name officially credited for the song).[citation needed]

ArrG! Ye can quote me on that one but no more.

Group it after "The Pirate Quote" so early in the re-make.

    ~ Tetris Themes ~
(Yeah I know everyone knows 'em by heart...
But they are among my favorite game music themes:
Music Theme Simplicity in a handheld Game...)

This one I have yet to find out the music title to the theme other than that it is referred to as Tetris Type B theme...

I like the Harpsichord particularly in that it produces a unique sound like no other I currently know of...

Never really thought about this iconic part of the game until you now pointed it out...
You have pointed out the prime example that when One knows they are indeed playing this game of the second series they know they are going to play a really good game they are hearing this theme... :D
