    Favorite Die Hard film

Well, with Die Hard 4 on the books (or Live Free or Die Hard, apparently:shocked: ) & with Die Hard 2 on TV a few days ago thought I'd throw up this lil' poll.

    First one:
Bruce Willis in a vest, Alan Rickman at his classy best, loadsa great lines ("Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho.") & some fantastic set pieces, a Hollywood action classic.

    Second one:
    Location: Hollywood execs' office.
First exec: Lets make a sequel to die hard!
Second exec: Great idea! Whats the pitch?
First exec: How about we set it in an airport? That way we can blow up planes n stuff!
Second exec: Genius! Heres $50 million, go shoot it.
    Thats about it. :undecided:
The plot is as tacked on as a missing cat notice on a 300 year old oak tree: feels wrong, vaguely out of place & slightly embarassing for all involved.

Third one: Samuel L in a cab, Bruce shouting n shooting alot, Jeremy Irons lends weight as the token villain. Some nice set pieces, better plot (than the second one), an altogether worthier film than the second one.

    Fourth one:
Sounds like it could go either way, quality wise. Also, incorrect use of the 'who' in that sentence Dondrei?

    Anyway, go nuts.

    In order:
First, third then second. The fourth will most likely be worse than #2

Are you kidding? Any sequel called Die Harder is number 1 in my book.

Throw in a U.S. senator and Dennis Franz playing a prick New York cop a few years before NYPD blue came out, and 2 is the clear winner.

Who needs a plot? Does 3 have a coherent plot?

Also, you would think someone so hyped over Snakes on a Plane would have liked number 2 a bit more. Just because it wasn't intentionally bad, smeg, doesn't mean it isn't so bad it is good.

Die Hard >>>>>>>>>>> the entire action genre, incl. Die Hard 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>... >>>>> Die Hard 2.

Die Hard is by far the best. Samuel L. Jackson and a few classic scenes made Die Hard 3 a decent movie in its own right, but nothing near the original. Die Hard 2 we will not speak of.

    Ugh, terrible.

The first is obviously the best, because it led to the worst television edit of all time:

    Yippie-kye-aye "Mr. Falcon."

    How wonderfully horrible.

The original is my favorite - no contest, but I thought three was a fun ride also. I guess it helps that the first time I watched it, I ordered it on pay per view on a whim and had zero expectations.

Two on the other hand ... ewwwww.

Durf = a guy here on the forums who's quite famous
Poing = google for it :wink3:
Boobies = who doesn't like those?

As for the combination of the three, people are always interested to see which you'd prefer: the something weird, something weird or something nice?

As for the topic of Die Hard: I grew up with these kind of films, so I like them all, I've been anxciously waiting for Die Hard 4 for ages now :jig:

Is it this? If that's not it, maybe our googles are different because that's all I'm getting that seems like it could possibly be it.

    Anxiously.
