    favorite comedies

I was looking at Bravos top 100 comedies list and was rather confused by it. Not only did they have freakin Napoleon Dynamite as #14 but they had Monty Python and the Holy Grail as #40...wtf!!? Of course this is all opinion but to me this is insane.

So what are your guys top 5 or 10 favorite comedies? I still have a lot of the classics to watch so my list may change but here it is for now:

    1. South Park: Bigger, Longer Uncut
    2. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    3. Harold and Maude
    4. Monty Python: The Life of Brian
    5. Clerks 1 and 2

    Re: favorite comedies

I watch quite a lot of comedies/comedians so I'm struggling to think of my top five but I'll give it a go

    1. Mock the Week
    2. Peep Show
    3. Only Fools' & Horses
    4. 8 Out of 10 Cats
    5. South Park

There are a LOT of sitcoms/comedians I like but these are probably my top five atm

    I'm Gonna Git you Sucka
    Scarey Movie
    Louis CK Shameless (hbo standup)
Any Carlin Special (saw him live in January whohoo!)
    Dogma

I am drawing a blank, I am just trying to avoid ones that have already been mentioned... most of them are obvious favs.... and Dogma is one of my top favs so I couldn't resist throwing it out there again.

    Re: favorite comedies

Comedy is one of the few areas where TV is a lot better than movies. I guess because comedy is hard to maintain for a full 2-3 hours and fit into some kind of movie arc.

I guess my list would include the Monty Python films, not sure about the ordering (Life of Brian and Meaning of Life might be above Grail but then I have seen Grail like a million times), others that come to mind are Office Space, Groundhog Day (also shown a million times, admittedly), Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz, Zoolander, Bill and Ted, I guess Clerks and Mallrats although I've been so put off them because of Kevin Smith's other work which seriously pissed me off, A Fish Called Wanda, Ruthless People... I'll probably think of more later.

    Re: favorite comedies

In no particular order, and stretching the boundaries of "comedy":

    The Big Lebowski
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Blazing Saddles
    Bill and Ted movies
    Clerks
    Dr. Strangelove
    Office Space
    Superbad
    Road Trip
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
    Go
    Trainspotting
    Wedding Crashers
    Zoolander

I know several of those aren't standard comedies, but they're still funnier than most movies that are built around humor.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Anchorman. It's a good thing I don't smoke weed. I already find things stoners laugh at funny enough as it is.

My favorite comedy is the TV show Yo! Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr. The ridiculousness of this show is unparalleled.

Without knowing anything about that show, I bet there are quite a few Adult Swim shows that are more ridiculous than it.

I really liked Go, Trainspotting and Dr Strangelove but you're definitely stretching those boundaries.

I'm surprise that you guys naming sitcoms didn't name Arrested Development. I haven't seen Peep Show but A.D is my favorite sitcom, if you like dry humor or word play humor you would love this show. I'm glad some people named Futurama though since its my favorite cartoon, beats the hell out of family guy.
