Father Ted I know there a few British folk here, but has anyone seen Father Ted the BBC TV series? My dad bought it on DVD and its amazingly funny. The shows premise is that this seemingly normal(yet gambling adicted Catholic preist) is sent to a parish with a total dunce (Father Dougal) and a senile old man (Father Jack) and whacky things happen along the way. I watched the first season on DVD and am going to watch Season 2 and 3 soon. One familiar name in the series (so I've heard but haven't seen him) is Graham Norton. I think he's funny and can make an already funny series funnier. I haven't seen him in action yet, but who knows. This show is on BBC America for those of you here in the States (and I assume Canada too.) Give it a few episodes and you'll be laughing, I promise.
Graham Norton has a good part on the second DVD set, but I don't know if he did more than that one episode great great show, I love it
Graham Norton is absolutely hysterical in the episode I've seen him in. Have you already seen the one with the milkman by the way? That one and the one with the Euro Song-Contest are my faves by far!
It has been a while, but I think he appeared for a shorter time in one other episode. I guess this is the official site - http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/comedy/microsites/F/fatherted/ but as you can read in http://www.fathertedonline.ukf.net/ , it is pretty hard to keep a series going when the lead dies the day after wrapping the latest season (1998) O'Hanlon is good in My Hero, but far funnier in standup. You can catch him on Comedy Channel every so often.
One of the best comedys of all time in my opinion. Up there with the best like Fawlty Towers. One of thoses comedys that doesnt get boring with time. I was shown on Channel Four over here in England, often making appearences on E4 now and then. Graham Norton [Noel Furlong] appears in two episodes. Hell [Series Two] and The Mainland *Also with Richard Wilson in* [Series 3] *Pats trusty script book on the head*
If you think Father Ted is British/English you gotta be an idiot. sorry. Edit: Gramhan norton is only in a couple. Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) is dead now. Just FYI.
Aflac! The line that sticks out most in my mind is when Father Jack is asked the question, "You haven't been drinking the Toilet Duck again." What ensues is hilarious (I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet).
Try Irish.. Close enough to being british. Dermot Morgan died a day after shooting the last episode hence its ending. *SPOILER Below* Because ironically he was joining kevin at the ledge to jump after Dougal says "for ever and ever"
The only reason I said British is because it came from the BBC which is a British production company.
What, I didn't know he died. The one with the milkvan was hilarious. When I was in England, I used to watch the afternoon comedies every day, Father Ted, My Hero, Keeping up Appearances etc
The comment was at myleftfoot. =) It was a Hat Trick Production for Channel Four over here in England.
