fastest way to level up a moron

I'm thinking I made a mistake in having my partner's 'zon keep her act V moron and not switch to a Might Moron to go along with my 'sin's HF moron. as we are now in Hell act and both at lvl 78, it would take some time to get a NM moron up to our level in order to survive in Hell.

so what is the fastest way to level up a moron? also, do they have to actually get the kill or do they get XP for party kills like regular players do?

Merc don't get XP for party member kills. They only get XP for monsters that you kill and also the ones they kill. They get a 3x the amount of XP for monsters they kill themselves.

Merc gain the best XP when you/they are killing monsters of similar level.

you didnt mention what level the merc is at now, but a good place to level him up is to do a few of bloody foot hill runs at /p8.
check the monster/area levels listed somewhere on this site and run those areas to bring him up.

if we go back to NM act 2 and hire him, he'll be whatever level act 2 NM morons start at

he'll be mid 40's if youve just got him, so i suggest nm meph runs (good for Mf aswell) or baal if he can handle it. baal normal will get him god exp and be very easy (you get lister + minions down to a bit of life, he'll finish them off, same for baal). he gives good lvls up to the mid-50's, whcih would be a nice time for him to start meph running.
you should be able to get him up to the mid-60's very qucikly on meph runs. then a bit of nm baal to lvl both of you.

Cows for that difficulty level are also good targets for them, thats how I got my lvl 46 HF merc to lvl 66 in one day
