Raven: Usefull against ranged attackers.

Spirit of Barbs: At least it stacks with Thorns and IM so it can't be all bad. To those who doubt that this skill has never been actually used, think again...

Weaken: Well on a necro it's a prequistise(sp) but on Soul drainers with another class it makes quite a difference.

Increased stamina: This is as useless as it gets. I mean every other class got their less usefull skills to contribute a synergy, but no, its good on its own.
I voted for this.

Psychic hammer: Well, it does magic damage and has knockback so it can't be that bad. I imagine it is as usefull as telekinesis for a sorc. You can keep a monster from attacking and let your merc deal with it. I actually used this tactic sometimes. :D

As everyone has said, Ravens are great for their ability to blind. Certainly keeps the heat off my back in Hell for my Fire Druid. Keeps those blind Fire Immunes sitting in the middle of a volcano for the whole duration. Gotta love that.

I've got a soft spot for SoB, I mean I maxed him out on my Werewolf back in 1.09. Sure, I never made it to hell, but I was stylin' with my ghostly white spirit :yep:

Weaken - I've used it while waiting for Decrepify. Not a long lifespan, I'll admit, but it's definately there.

Increased Stamina - voted for this. Absolutely useless. The only passive booster that is completely and totally redundant.

Psychic Hammer - I use this a lot in the early stages of the game for knockback. Much like the Sorc's telekenisis.

Done.

Spirit of Barbs, because it's possibly the one skill in the entire game that nobody, ever, has bothered to put a point into--it's not even a prerequisite for something else, which would make it SORT of useful.

Psychic Hammer at least has knockback on it, which makes it useful for knocking monsters close to you backward into a handy trap.

Why didn't you include Sacrifice, by the way? As the only skill in the entire game you can actually kill yourself with, surely it deserves at least an honourable mention... :)
Sacrifice will only kill a player who uses it stupidly. With enough life leech, it will dispatch most monsters quite handily, with little or no life loss to the character. If your life is getting low with it, quaff a healing potion. Life Tap (Dracul's Grasp, Exile runeword, numerous charged items, friendly necro in party) is also a sure way to keep the life ball up.

So many people forget the single best feature of Sacrifice- it needs no mana! When facing a pack of mana-burn critters, virtually every other skill can be rendered unusable; Sacrifice keeps going.

Plus, if people argue that Increased Stamina is at least useful as a pre-requisite, then they must agree that Sacrifice must be better. Increased Stamina is a pre-req for one skill (a skill that can be replaced/supplemented by items); Sacrifice is a pre-req for three skills. Increased Stamina is a synergy for nothing; Sacrifice is a synergy for probably the most-used Paladin melee skill.

Another honorable mentions should go to Teeth. And Poison Dagger. And Leap. And Fire Blast (? the grenade-type sin trap). And maybe Shadow Warrior. And Spirit Wolves. And Arctic Blast. And half of the defensive auras. Wow, how much can we get? Oh, the sorcs! Fire Bolt! Ice Bolt! Telekinesis!
If you're talking v1.09, I'd agree on most of those, except that some of them are actually useful at the stage in the game when you first get them. For example, when making a sorcy, often my very first skill point goes into Ice Bolt. Sure, the damage sucks, the chill time sucks, but monsters in the Blood Moor aren't exactly unstoppable juggernauts of destruction; Ice Bolt does the job.

In v1.10, I don't think I'd agree at all. First, every one of those skills is useful as a synergy if nothing else, and second, Teeth? What were you thinking? My bonemancer's Teeth (not maxed yet; will be next level) does 468-617 damage. That's per tooth, of which there are 24 (seems to max out at 24), and it's also without exploiting a cheesy syngergy bug. In dueling, this rocks. The damage might not be great, but it's harder to outrun than Bone Spirit, a lot easier to aim than Bone Spear, and very easy on the mana, so it can be spammed a lot.

Zeal, Vengance, Conversion and FoH
Oops, yes, you're right. I guess I forgot about Conversion, what with it being so useless. Hmm. Perhaps that should have been on Bob's list. :)

Useless. Useless! USELESS! Why I should kick you from here to Hong Kong. It can give you one hit kills...it makes swarm monsters easy...it makes you able to run by almost anything...
