Fan Class: Artisan

Try not to let the name put you off

Basically I like mid-range characters you know, projectiles+sword, but the idea of swinging around a club smashing heads was always just a bit…meh same with a bow (i'm looking at you zon!). What I want from a fighter is finesse, and speed, someone who takes the brutality and turns it into beauty, and this is what I came up with. Except without projectiles, just long range melee (wierd i know!). Hope you like it.

For all trees (seeing as mana a no-no:no:) i would want to use a system similar *cough* identical *cough* to the barbarians fury system but i would prefer to call it momentum considering how most, if not all, of the moves are involved in speed.

Trees:

1.Aesthetic
These moves would demand less momentum then moves in swordplay but would have cool down periods to limit thier usage. These moves would essentially be the to the artisan what the wizard has, and the witch doctor doesn't...nice and sparkly.
eg moves.
-(cant think of name), think stationary whirlwind, longer radius, and more pretty
-various moves with 'dance' at the end of them eg blood dance or blade dance, these could serve many purposes eg, health/mana drain or stunning nearby enemies
-various buffs etc, these would all be enduced by an almost trance like dance (again pretty colours come into play here)

2.Swordplay
This tree would focus on using the speed of the Artisan in brutal amounts to take out large numbers of enemies at a time or dealing a lot of damage to one.
eg moves.
-Tyrfing, this move would be a devastating slice, useful against bosses/uniques etc and would require no momentum but would be detrimental to the user causing damage to his/herself
-Arondight, a large area attack, eg attacks x amount of enemies within x yards and would increase in damage and amount each level.
-Thier would be many passives on this tree that are passives relating to dodging or increasing attack speed (as the majority of moves in swordplay and momentum would all be affected by it)

3.Locomotion
These moves would be focused around rushing in to an enemy from a distance and would be practically useless for fighting large groups, but effective at taking out a group leader, eg. fallen shaman. Darting in slice, dart out again hurling a dager or two behind you.
These moves also would be essential for building up momentum for the larger, area attacks mentioned above.
eg moves.
-Rush, useful in coridors a simple sweep sending character from point 'a' to point 'b' damaging everthing in between.
-Dart, speed in as a blur striking one enemy and then return back to your point of origin

A Mental Picture:
Now if you cant allready get one i'm here to help, of course i realise that an actual picture would be better but my strength lies with words not pictures, so here I go.

You are a fallen, going about on your everyday things that fallen do, when suddenly while walking alongside the edge of a cliff you spy a movement in the shadows, material floating away into the darkness, an angelic ghostly image that disturbs you greatly, for such things are not welcome here. Then suddenly darting a women emerges from the behind a pilar, a long sword in one hand, a dagger in the other, the swords jagged blade dragging along the floor sending sparks flying off to the left ad right. Her walk breaks out into a run, her loose clothing trailing after her in a wispy line, blurring her actual figure. She darts from left to right rapiddly as she approaches you, both blades drawing ever closer, her slight build and black hair making her appear as a spectral beuty (mispelt),she raises her sword to strike. Even before your hands can react to her immenent threat she has reached you, but makes no move to strike, but rather darts to the left jumping around to your back, where you feel the cold of her dagger press aainst and through your flesh and its point through yor front.
Needless to say your tribe were also killed.

For anyone who managed to read that I aplaud you, i'm not a great writer but i enjoy it, and for any lore freaks, thats the best you'll be getting (background history bah!)

Feel free to join in with any suggestions, i know theres a lot of room for improvement. (and not just in spelling:wink:)

Thnx for reading:thumbup:
