Fail to see how skellies can survive in Hell

Ok... i am very confused, seeing how everyone has so many skellymancers
I look at the arreat summit and see that lvl 20 skelly does 37-39 damage
while lvl 20 skelly mastery does +40 damage in additional
to sum up one skelly will do 79 damage in lvl 20 mastery + lvl 20 skelly

    However, according to this guide:
    http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=126795&page=1

lvl 20 skelly + lvl 20 skelly mastery does 124 - 127 damage. Why is that!??!!
Is the guide accurate? is my eyes playing tricks on me? The guide even says at lvl 42 mastery + skelly u do 667-671 damage! Someone plz explain to me what's going on...

This is because skeleton damage has two components: %enhanced damage and base damage. Each point in mastery adds to base damage. Each point in Skeleton Warrior adds to %enhanced damage and base damage (I forget how much goes into base per level). The %ED is applied to the total base damage. The stats on Areat Summit are calculated assuming no points in mastery so each point in mastery is worth more than it at first appears.

Dracoy: How do you calculate damages with that thingy? I can only add or subtract skill points from the skillplanner, it doesnt say specifically how much damage i will be dealing out.

    Starcrunch:
Well... looks like arreats and d2 are both not going a very good job. They both do not specify that the skill has %ed towards it. This means the skeletons actually ahve a hidden +%ed to each level.

    EDITED:
Forgot to say thx.... appreciated :worship:
and opps.... my internet was messed up... ignore the msg for Dracoy

put 20 into skeleton master/20 into skeleton warrior

DO NOT PUT MORE THAN 20 in the thing.

Now add 20 to the "over all skill thing" - this stimulates as in gear use

Then u will see how much damage it will do

We can link to this site if I am not mistaken. That in turn will lead to the correct skill planner.

That is the beauty of it. We do not link directly to the site we can not link to. Nothing in the rules says anything about that sort of linking. We need to consult DK.

    QUIT TAKING POSTS OT!

To help the original poster: alot of times, people fail to realize that the numbers displayed for damage are per skeleton, and that is before might and before amp damage.

To watch a level 35+ skeleton warrior/mastery summoner run around is quite a sight! They can really rip crap apart, especially with a high level CE.

My post wasn't OT, it was talking about a serious problem with ad sites being against the rules. And the serious problem is the skill planner is on an ad site. So MM fixed it, and we're all happy. Don't you think praise is due for a brilliant necro like MM?

Skellies can survive in hell quite well I must add.

I don't actually know the damage that my skeletons are doing but it isn't nearly as high as the people with level 30+ mastery...

but...I did just solo the hell ancients with my summoner and they did the majority of the killing

(started with a might mercenary,10 skeletons, 4 magi, and 5 revives)
    (ended with 8 skeletons remaining)

so I'm pretty sure they do a better job of surviving than most of the other minions I've seen.

Just for giggles, try maxing out all the fields. +999 to all skills and trees.

How about 668 skellies each doing 1.6M damage??
Fire Golem cost 20k to cast.
Hard to believe Resist All only reaches 79%.
    Decrep last 2 hours.
    Lower Resists only reaches -74%.
Confuse, confuses ALL the monsters within .8 miles.
Poison Dagger and Poison Explosion with damage in the TRILLIONS!
    Bone Armor absorbs 49K damage.
    BS/BS damage in the Millions.
CE with a range of over 1/3 of a mile. Atomic Corpse?

This is the future of Diablo. They probably won't make it this easy until v5.8,...hopefully later.
