They are unique jewels, called rainbow facets.
There are 8 different ones with varying stats.
    Look HERE for more info.

    Value goes like that: Lightning>Cold>Fire>Poison

You'll find them in mf runs, yes, nothing special about them in that sense.

Also, only the 5/5's are quoted. Lower stats are quite a bit less.

Cast upon dying is worth more? That's fascinating. People on B.Net must die a lot - my softcore characters typically only die once or twice, and that's generally due to the FE bug. They level up 90 - some odd times, so that modifier would be much more valued by me.

That's because they are used a lot by duelers, kind of an "up yours!!!" way of saying goodbye.

I tend to stay healthy too. I call it hardcore play style in softcore.

Ah, hadn't considered that, as I rarely duel - makes perfect sense. Thanks!

It makes for an interesting economy. The high level duelers go for the most godly of the godly, paying extremely high premiums for perfect stat gear. Then the low level duelers pay extremely high premiums for certain low level gear: Biggins bonnet, Hotspurs, Ravenclaw, Deaths Set, +10 to +14 damage on a level 9 jewel. Keep an eye out!

Take a look at the stats for the gloves and the sash together. A 2 row belt is no big deal for duelers since they dont allow potions anyway.

Those are typically the only pieces duelers are interested in. The sword has a fairly high strength requirement (71).
