Explain the creation of Cylons in Battlestar Galactica

I thought everything will be clear when the final 5 is united and they explain the evolution of human's coexistence with the Cylons.

So it's all backward? The 13th colony came first and the 12 colonies were descendants of the 13th? Earth blew up 5000 years ago? And 5 people left traveling the galaxy looking for the 12 colonies for thousands of years.

Then explain this. How does the final 5 travel for thousands of years without aging? According to Adama, Col Tigh does age. And when any of the skinjobs die they resurrect to the same age.

They had resurrection capability during their trip, then they forgot about it, then they re-created it for use with the skin jobs but didn't bother making themselves immortal again.

Battlestar Galactica reminds me a lot of "days of our lives" at one moment there's some people on a space ship. Next thing you know there's some chicks walking in the park. Then the same people from the park are on board a space ship talking about some baby, then all of a sudden your back in the park.

But it's implied that Count Iblis somehow had something to do with it.
