The answer to your second question is yes and no.It depends if your char is cursed with amplify damage or not.I lost a HC Goldfindbarb to Geleb(NM Trav run) and he had 2900 HP after bo.( my char was amped).So Fe bug can do nasty damage i tell u.Hrus said:

The FE bug doesn't occur in hell mode, only in nightmare (and perhaps in normal mode as well). I cannot remember that my zealot ever died from fire enchantment in hell mode, for example, not even Lister's, and he visited him a lot without having been BOed. In nightmare, my old gold find barb (L85 or so) died perhaps 1 in 50 times from a combination of fire enchantment, amplify damage and low life (optimum GF means no leech :lol: ) when fighting the Councils, even if he is BOed.

What FE bug do you talk about?
Monsters should deal FE explosion proportional to maxlife of the creature, so high life monsters as Lister (council) should be dangerous...
I know Lister's explosion is deadly for this character if it's not blocked. I died around 5 times leveling this zon on solo P8 Hell Baal runs - 2 times from Lister, 2 time from Ventar, 1 time from FE Death Lord. It was in 1.10
In 1.11 the Fire explosion was reduced, but what is exactly the damage?

I wrote about it in reply to Nilarippers posting which mentions the FE bug. I just wanted to point out that the explosion is more dangerous in nightmare than in hell mode.
Arreat Summit says that fire enchantment deals 75-100% of the monster'ds life in a 4 yards radius, but that would mean certain death to anybody who can't block it (if blockable) respectively who doesn't have massive fire resists (if applicable). According to d2data.net, Lister has 23,000-35,000 life, so AS might be wrong here...
