Ever been creeped out by DII?

Well, ever been really afraid of something shown in the game? Maybe the first week you had the game the catacomb soul moans gave you some chills? I always found DII really creepy.

When I first played the catacombs, those little soul moans gave me HUGE chills. I don't know why the were taken of the Monastory (sp) track on Arreat Summit.

So, anything ever creep you out?

Yes, as soon as I bought the battle chest, I played a bit of the first dungeon.

    Barely touched it afterwards.

Oddly, last night I had my first real creep out by D2. I was in the Flayer Dungeon in Act3 on the third floor. I wandered around for quite some time and couldn't find a single enemy. I figured that when I finally did run into a room with something in it, it would be a great many very powerful flayers. The tension of wandering around and waiting for the first contact was pretty intense :scared: . I actually felt quite a bit of relief when something finally happened.

Heh, if D2 creeped you out play a game called Fatal Frame, the first one is much scarier, you will have nightmares.

But no D2 has never creeped me out. The people? Well that's a different story.

    Haha. I agree.

..D1 was much more scary than D2. Though I was several years younger when I played it. Try Alone in the Dark.. pretty scary stuff.. oldie but goldie.

d1 is way worse than d2, i can't remember who it is but someone's constantly crying for help or something in the background, and it's a really weird voice, plus it's basically constantly dark in d1 so it's pretty different

I remember my first time playing half-life when I was 13, it was in the middle of the night with all the lights off... yeah, all the screamings freaked me out when the tests went awry... man, I was really relieved to close that game, I swear I did not touch for a few days, come to think now, it's rather funny those days :p

For D2, the catacombs definitely gave me chills when I was still a newbie... Imagine a lvl 10 newbie clawing through the darkness where a million monsters are lurking in every corner...

Those goddamned electric bat things that jump off the ceilings are mighty frightening at times.

As stated by others, diablo1 (even now at my age) is more "creepy" than diablo2 by far. The best example is the catacombs in diablo1 where you can hear the constant crying of children in the background (that's what it seems to be).

Diablo 1 isn't really that scary, Ive been playing it over the past weeks for the first time, dark room as usual, volume up etc, still nothing really scary and I'm on Dungeon 11. Im pretty sure most people played it at a much earlier age than Diablo 2, so I guess thats why it seemed scarier. (I remember being afraid of God and evil and such when I was younger too, but, you move on.)

The soundtrack is nice though, the the before mentioned sound vague scream like things. The monsters do look meaner as well, I should put up some screenies later to show the difference between the claw vipers in d1, and the toys that replace them in d2.

    Diablo 2 snake

    Diablo 1 snake

All my time playing diablo 2, still no fear, the top-down view seems to allow me to disconnect with the game for some reason, Ive always found 1st person games like Unreal and MoH get my blood flowing than anything else.
