Events?

Do you think blizzard will be adding events to Diabo 3?
They could easily be added to single player too, heres a few ideas:

once a year certain monsters could break free from hell and be found hiding around sanctuary.

traveling NPC's could come to towns with seasonal quests.

new dungeons could open up for a week or 2 each year
etc etc


I know diablo isnt a mmorpg but that doesnt mean it cant have events

For me, having such events is the single most desired aspect of the game I want to see implimented. Otherwise, once the game is played through, what else is there to do? I have never been one who particulary cares for doing mindless x number of MF runs. After a while this game just gets boring, hence why the actual lifespan of players seems to be quite short, or done with long periods of breaks. Everyone I met when I came back to this game in 2006 is nowhere to be seen, same goes for the people I met months later after a break, and same for everyone I knew the last time round. The game just gets tedious; done that, seen that, been there before.

Nothing good be more fun than entering a game, long after you have finished the whole run, to find some random event occur. As much as I absolutely despised the whole idea of how Diablo Clone was spawned, I did like the fact that this random event could occur at any time. There is only going to be X amount of mapspace created. After a while of exploring, we will need refreshments otherwise go see the thread about Baal runs, because that is EXACTLY all anyone will do, because that is exactly all that will be left!

I'd rather not see any events in Diablo. IMO, if they add something, it should remain in the game at all times. I don't care if it's a random quest that only occures X% of the time, but just don't make it a special event that only those lucky enough to play on a specific day get to have all of the fun.

I think random boss spawns and events and also random quests will kinda offer a replacement for this kind of things.

I think some random quests would be a pretty good idea. I'd be all for some quests that netted XP or (if it's useful enough) gold rewards. Plus, it gives you something to do other than MF runs .

It would be hella fun.

Maybe even a short term extra level to explore? That would be awesome.

Every month something new to explore or fight or anything to keep the game new and fresh.

fancy events are cool but sucky if on only special holidays. Hellgate had Christmas, new years, easter, etc. I was like spending time with family on Christmas, new years, easter, etc..................................

never saw an event ever. Same with Halloween on guildwars.

only events i would like to see them mkae would be like Uber Diablo. no holiday crap, this is not an mmo, closest thing i want to see as a holiday event would be an "easter egg" (ok not to funny)

Possible, this topic has been discussed before.

AS long as it suits the mood of the game then random events and add-ons should be ok.

No Diablo in Santa's hat though.
