Eth steel carapace

hi guys, I have a question about the ethereal steel carapace..
I read alot of the post here and alot of people prefer ethereal steel carapace, eth valor, stone, or duress when barb vs melee. I would get ethereal steel carapace if i can afford it but then wouldn't it be bm to use eth steel carapace because of the chance to cast iron maiden when struck? wouldn't it be unfair to the other melee player since there's almost no chance for him to win if he has iron maiden on him? If ethereal steel carapace armor is not the way to go, what one of the armor listed above would be most appropriate for good mannered duels(no bugged eth stone with indestructible or etc)? Thanks

Iron maiden does little to nothing in pvp, so dont worry about being bm.
it does however scare off the newbies :evil:

i just thought about the str req..it's EXTREMELY high. my barb is level 83 and with 77 base str. I don't know how i can hit 200+ lol. Should i just give up on the ethereal steel carapace since str is 200+ and with hel rune, it's around 186. I don't think that even by level 99 i would have enough for eth steel carapace. If I can't wear that armor, what's the next BEST legit armor. Enigma? With enigma i save a whole lot on STR and I could put them into VIT. I could put like 30 more STR to get 107 STR and HOPEFULLY get +20 stat anni to boost str to 127 and get 15 str Dracul = 142 just enough to wear my BOTD CB and from there....I will be able to start getting STR bonuses. 142 str...to wear BOTD(+30 Str) so that will get me 172 and I can wear SS that will bring me to 202 and that will give me enough str to wear my upped arreat's around 196 STR and the arreats will boost my STR to 222(which is not even enough for eth steel carapace which is 230 str) ..and if I can find a few +2 str sc..i think i can wear ETH steel carapace...but I will look naked because of the annihilus+str small charms :( OR go for another armor
Should i give up my dream of making a good pvp barb? I don't want to give up on my barb because I have played barbs since D2 Classic and barbs are my favorite char. I have made a few barbs in the past month and a few paladins but I ended up deleting them because i messed up a few stat points or skill points or problem like the one listed above. I'm also working on a bone necro before WoW comes out because i think the population on d2 will go down and many might move on to WoW before i can even complete my characters. I have a 5-7 characters i want to make.
