found one last night, but still can't decide how to put it to use on a pvp character.

Level 14 Volcano (30 charges)

-fireclaws
-fire druid
-wolf/elemental hybrid of some sort

anyone know of any pvp builds that would make use of it? otherwise I will just drop it on my 500 str charger.

BotD thundermaul would blow this out of the water for a 500 strength charger...
i dont think many builds could make use of this, as druids prefer shields,
damage is too low for chargers (and too slow ias for most other mellee)

I personally wouldn't use this if I were building a char, but if you want to make something with it for style points / don't have the funds for hoto/spirit - I would make a fire druid. Since they don't rely as heavily on fcr as wind druids do its lack of fcr wouldn't set you back as much.

However, as tankmodbile said, it does too little damage for chargers, and its much too slow for any other melee char.

I would 'hel' it to make the str req go down, and then use enigma if you can get one to boost your frw, skills, and STR (which you need a lot of for this weapon) - and teleport for emergencies.

Best use of an Earthshifter there is. Plain and simple, it's a crap weapon.



For the record tankmobile, if you want to 2h charge, please for the love of god use an eth 'death' decapitator. It's the most damaging weapon in the game - it will far outshine a botd anything.

The only help this weapon will provide in PvP is a quicker death.

Like most people they see the +7 to elemental skills and their eyes light up with joy/hope.

Not really true since an thundermaul and warpike do more dmg when in botd than an death decapitator. Could be faster though but im not sure about that either

But dont sell it to charsi, mule it.. Maybe someone will need it in the future for some reason and is willing to pay something for it.. 35k gold is easy to get, an eth earthshifter on the other hand is as rare as tyreals might

Actually a death decapitator does do more damage. Although on the lcs, it says more damage, from the edeath decapitator, there are some juicy mods like the 50% chance of crushing blow (at lvl 99), and the 49.5% of deadly strike (also at lvl 99).

Although crushing blow isn't that great in pvp when compared to some other mods, it does reduce their life by 1/10 afaik, and the deadly strike makes it do double damage. So that means it does a bit more than 1.5x what the character screen says, which is why edeath decapitator is better for a 2 handed charger.

Err, consider that 'death' gives ~45-47% DS, depending on your level, then reconsider.

Speed is irrelevant for charge. A charge-chain will hit at 7fpa, regardless of weapon speed.

well actually my charger uses edeath cs right now. I'm aware that it is far superior to eth earth shifter. EES is mainly just for the brownie points and perhaps showing it off considering its one of the rarer items to get in D2 albeit useless.

like mentioned before, there is almost no hope for it.

the only variable mod on it is ed (which is 262%) and the max damage tops out at 982.
