Eth Cruel Colossus Voulge ... what to socket?

i plan on giving this to my merc, but not sure what to socket in it. i have a 20% and 34% ed jewels and two 15% ias jewels, but i understand that i can only get 2 sockets max. i was wondering what you think the best combination of jewels (or runes?) might be for this weapon. i have a stealskull with p topaz and corpsemourn ornate plate on merc already.

here's some stats on the weapon:
84 to 832 dmg
237% ed
slow attack speed

I wouldnt waste a 34%ED jewel on that. Socket it with some low end ED jewels in it IMO.

I'd go 2 shaels to get the attack speed up. I think more frequent hits would do more damage then upping the weapon itself.

What to socket?

I'd go with a combo of what the last two said... with as much damage as that thing does, 2 amns would be overkill. As for the 2 shaels... well were you looking at it while it was in your inventory or actually ON your merc? If it was in your inventory you might want to see if your merc's class will let him swing it faster than you could. Different weapons attack at different speeds for different classes. If he's already swinging it at a decent speed then sure go for the 34% ed jewel... if you've got decent mf then you should find some as good or better than that before too awful long. If he's NOT swinging it fast enough for your liking, then yeah go with the shael. But unless you've got a good life leech armor or helm (i.e. andariel's visage) then you need to have at least 1 amn in it just to keep you from always having to keep an eye on his life.
