This is such a broad question.

What type of ww barb u looking for? there is many combinations of gear types, for example:
    a) ww polearm
    b) sword/shield
    c) sword/sword
    d) axe/axe
    e) axe/shield

    etc etc...

also you need to specify wheteher you can afford top of the range gear like enigma and ethreal botd because there if cheaper gear that is good too.

That's kinda what I'd like to know. Which combo is the best? Which will do the most damage? But not something wildly 'expensive'

tbh its nothing to do with what is best, you base a build around what you think will be fun not on what 'everyone else has'.

if i had to give you an answer id reccomend a sword / shield for your first ww build. For something not exceptionally expensive i can suggest this setup (the brackets is hat my barb uses)

    Helm: Arreats
Armour: Stone runeword / Valor (enigma)
    Belt: String of Ears (verdungos)
Boots: Travs (storm trek's mainly for PR)
Gloves: Lava Gout / Draculs (soul drainers for leech)
Rings: Raven Frost for cannot be frozen / Bul Kathos (whetever u need really)
Sword: GF (or non eth botd cb if u need faster swing and cant afford eth)
    Shield: SS

i think thats everything. basically try and build your own and adjust gear to your needs coz my barb went through about 3 complete gear setups before arriving where he is now, a pretty cool barb that can do hell easy :)

Personally, I believe S/S Barb is the boringest barb to play. Very tedious in 30s - 40s. -_- My titan barb (HIGH strength and Spear/Polearm Weapon (Spear's generally better)) was fun to play and he was pretty cheap to make.

    eth botd cb =

Ethreal Breath of the Dying (runeword) Colossus Blade.

It requires an ethreal 6 socket CB (they are going at about 3 - 4 runes now), and the runes Vex, Hel, El, Eld, Zod, Eth in that order. Note the ethreal is basically a free 50% ed because zod makes it indestructible.

    They can get these stats:

    http://www.diabloii.net/items/runes/runewords/breathofdying.php

note that this is in a non ethreal CB so damage is alot less.

Its the best and most expensive sword in the game.

Edit: ED% ranges from 350% to 400% and LL from 12% to 15%
