i want to make a crescent moon sword however i did not understand that stats at the arreat summit , the stats are :

10% Chance To Cast Level 17 Chain Lightning On Striking
7% Chance To Cast Level 13 Static Field On Striking
+20% Increased Attack Speed
+180-220% Enhanced Damage (varies)
Ignore Target's Defense
-35% To Enemy Lightning Resistance
25% Chance of Open Wounds
+9-11 Magic Absorb (varies)
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
Level 18 Summon Spirit Wolf (30 Charges)

what i dont understnad is the "+180-220% Enhanced Damage (varies)" does it mean that if the sword initially has 40-80 damage, after inserting the runes the damage will increase?

please enlighten me...

It means that when you create the runeword, it will pick a random enhanced damage bonus within that range for the permenant damage boost. Whatever number it rolls will multiply the base damage of the weapon to give you your final on-weapon damage total. If you had a sword that did 40-80 damage and rolled "200% enhanced damage" when creating the item, it would become 120-240 damage.

Enhanced damage adds to your weapons base damage as Hal pointed out. In runewords the value of ED% (enhanced damage) is randomized between two set values. in your case 180-220% so the rune word will have an ED% that will fall between the values of 180-220. You can see the calculation of this ED% below:

weapon damage * (1 + ED% (as a decimal)) = new weapon damage

an example

40-80 weapon base damage 200% ED from runeword

40 * (1 + 2.00) = 120
80 * (1 + 2.00) = 240

New weapon damage = 120-240

Weapon mastery and skills are applied after this new base damage is calculated, so ED% on a weapon is multiplicative with mastery and skills.

can anyone give me a link on like normal weapons such as phase blades usually do what damage as in the range of the damage e.g. 30-50 dmg pls..?

so what weapon do you think i should make to become a crescent moon weapon? a sword would be ideal for me as im a sword barb but others is ok...so what weapon? please give me an exact item as in " phase blade'" or "ettin axe" ..

It would depend on the combat skill you're using. If you're going whirlwind, you have no real choice other than the legend sword, as it is the only quality sword that can hit the final breakpoint with CM in it.

what i mean is i want to know which normal one handed weapon has the highest damage, as in a normal phase blade does 30-40 damage and it is one handed , so i want to know if any other one handed normal weapon can do higher damage?

it really depends on speed and of course combat skill. a slow but higher damage sword would probably do less damage then a lower dmg one which hits the last breakpoints. don't simply check damage but see the damage over a period of time.

just look up the damage/base speed of all swords at arreat and use a calculator to see what breakpoints you need to reach with your skill of choice.

Lol "Legend Sword" is not some kind of super sword, it's the elite version of "Two Handed Sword" just like Phase Blade <--> Crystal Sword, Legend Sword <--> Two Handed Sword

Since you're a barb, Legend Sword can be wielded in one hand.

haha, i get it now legend sword <-> two handed sword .. thanks! but the damage would still be quite pathetic ....legend sword about 50 miniumum damage, if it becomes a crescent moon it will become 150 minimum damage, some more at 2 handed...its not worth the runes i guess... maybe ill go for a GRIEF runeword but Lo rune is so hard to find.......
