    Energy Shield/Cyclone Armor

Which of these gets applied first? Using cyclone armor charges from infinity of course. Would this be worth it at all, assuming you have tons of ort runes and chipped gems to repair the charges? Has anyone actually tried it?

im pretty sure a most of stuff is applied after energy sheild

btw non-eth infinity is not worth the 2 bers/ist/mal so u might have problems trading that infinity if u ever will

Just wondering if it was worth having just for survivability reasons i.e. cyclone armor, but since its applied after energy shield i guess it wouldnt be worth it anyway. Thanks.

Infinity 4 Socket Polearms Ber + Mal + Ber + Ist 50% Chance To Cast Level 20 Chain Lightning When You Kill An Enemy
Level 12 Conviction Aura When Equipped
    +35% Faster Run/Walk
    +255-325% Enhanced Damage (varies)
-(45-55)% To Enemy Lightning Resistance (varies)
    40% Chance of Crushing Blow
    Prevent Monster Heal
0.5-49.5 To Vitality (Based on Character Level)
30% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
Level 21 Cyclone Armor (30 Charges)

If this item was ethereal he wouldn't be able to repair the charges, and he would have to use it on a merc! Btw. why haven't we seen any lightning/ES sorcs use this weapon? I mean prebuff ES, then switch to this weapon and you will have -130 to enemy lightning resist (higher than conviction no matter what). Does sound good in my opinion :p

i believe the duration would be kinda low as well without the maxing of its synergy

Duration?? You prebuff ES to level 40 and take 20 hard points in telekenessis.

I was talking about cyclone armor lol. Putting points into hurricane, nado, etc increases its duration

cyclone armor itself does not have a duration.

the one you cast using the charge can absorb 280 damage, 10% of what a high-level windy druid typically has.

oh man, im gonna use someone else's term and say i had a "brain fart"

I was thinking of hurricane =)
Anyways wouldnt the cyclone armor still absorb minimal ammount? Im thinking that a single fireball, lightning (from light sorc or sentry), and/or even a Frozen Orb would penetrate it rather easily. Correct me if im wrong

In PvP and with a 95% ES the cyclone armor will absorb about 33000 dmg, which is about twice as much as a wind druid's Cyclone Armor.

Just guessing here (working backwards from what RTB posted)

    280 damage Cyclone Armour
    1/6th PvP penalty
    95% ES

    ( 280 / 1/6 ) = 1680

1680 is equal to 5% (what goes through the ES) --> 100% equals 33600

So ES is applied before Cyclone armor?
In that way if you get hit by a 33600 damage fireball it would go something like this:
    5% of 33600 = 1680, while (33600-1680) * 2/3 goes to mana due to telekenissis.

Then the (33600-1680)*2/3 is divided by 6 due to pvp penalty and you'll loose 31920/9 mana

The same with the 1680, which will get divided by 6 and give 280, which cyclone armor will complety absorb and dissapear.

Is that the way it'd work?

If that's the case I'd say infinity might be a good weapon for a lightning sorc, using high level prebuffed ES and cyclone armor, plus this char will have about -130% to enemy lightning resist and much higher damage than blizzard (about double I guess).

I tested this awhile back with infinity; cyclonic armor is applied first then es. Even if you synergize it using twister charges on a circlet; cyclonic armor still breaks relatively easy.
