Enchantress Gear Idea

Just wondering if this kinda setup was explored before.

20 TK, Mana Shield, Warmth, Enchant, Fire Mastery

Weapon: Passion Caduceus (+3 Zeal)
Shield: Magical Jeweler's Aegis of Warding (6 MDR)
Switch Weapon: Widowmaker
Headgear: Andariel's Visage
Armor: Gladiator's Bane (20 PDR & MDR)
Belt: String of Ears (15 MDR)
Glove: Crafted Blood Gloves (20% IAS)
Boots: Goblin Toe (1 PDR & MDR)
Amulet: Rising Sun
Ring 1: Nature's Peace (11 PDR)
Ring 2: Crafted Safety Ring (4 PDR & 2 MDR, Mana Leech)

That gives me 36 PDR & 44 MDR after Energy Shield, which absorbs 75% damage and takes 1/2 damage itself. Assuming a Rogue Merc with Faith, this build hits 7-frame Zeal with 40% CB and should never take a point of life damage, despite the lowish defense, barring Mana Burn. That said, Mana Burn bosses are taken care off with guided arrows from Widowmaker.

this is really the only part i see a problem with
even if it does have +3 zeal the auto mod would only apply to paladins and you would still only get the +1 from passion and not +4 total

I would switch out the gloves with mage fist for the occasion cast rate and +1 fire skill, the blood gloves doent really help that much besides the ias because the majority of your dmg is elemental and that doesnt leech very well. if you want the ias you can socket your armor and Andy, or even switch out your sunrise for highlords.
7 frame zeal is really not that fast, you will find it rather frustrating.

Spectral Hit bosses (and other monsters that can cause poison damage) will still be able to hurt you, in addition to manaburn.

But otherwise, I think this is an excellent idea... it might even make me not hate Energy Shield. (doubtful... :p)

@wretchedangel, stephan is correct... even if the item says "paladin only", if you can get access to the skill, the "paladin only" mods will boost that skill for every class. Neat, eh?

Other than Teleport, I don't have spells to cast, but now that you mention it I don't need the 20% IAS on the gloves to hit 7 frame zeals. Also, 7 frames is significantly faster than the 10 frames that sorceress are normally restricted to with one-handed swinging weapons.

Besides, I mostly like Blood Gloves for the Crushing Blow.

Spectral Hit bosses (and other monsters that can cause poison damage) will still be able to hurt you, in addition to manaburn.
Poison will deal HP damage, but not much. Thanks to Andy's my max poison resist is 85%, Gladiator's Bane cuts the duration in half, and between Andy's, the Resist Scrolls, and an Anni/Torch I wind up with ~20 poison resistance even in Hell, with boots, jewels, and to a lesser extent even a ring to boost it further. If even with maxed resistance that's not enough, I'll swap out my gloves for Venom Grips to increase the cap by another 5%.

Also, something I overlooked earlier, I could use Gerke's Sanctuary as well. That gives me a much better block rate with a much smaller strength requirement, decent resist all, and more huge PDR/MDR numbers, taking the totals up to 52 PDR & 56 MDR for perfect items in this regard, which should make it such that even Act Bosses will have a hard time breaking through my defenses.

EDIT: Finally, theres one last question to be asked... Vitality or Energy? I'm thinking I should give a minor boost to Vitality so that I have ~400 HP for most of Hell and then stick the rest in Energy for big boosts from +% Mana from, say, Frostburns. That will give me a nice emergency reserve of HP in case a Mana Burn enemy hits me.

String of ears gives damage reduced by %. That doesn't add to pdr

That statement is very true. String of ears gives a small amount of Physical Resistance that effectively increases PDR, but the real reason it's there is to have a little Life Leech to keep my Life topped off, a significant chunk of MDR (10-15 points), and the 16 slot belt with the lowest strength requirement.

It's actually the other way around. PDR effectively decreases the effect of %DR, although it's no reason to avoid it.
