Enchanted Summoner?

Enchanted Summoner?

So after dying for the 80th time this weekend I was in several chant games and ran into an enchant bot that would chant minions automagically.

This got me thinking about making a summoner who always rolls with enchanted skellies and uses possbily LR instead of Amp, or possibly decrepify.

Anyone had this idea before? Any number crunching to prove that id be better of with might and fanaticism?

Sorry, should have been more clear.

My enchant would be coming from a real-deal chant sorc on another account NOT demon limb or some other such nonsense.

Ouch. How is your Summoner/Fishymancer getting killed so often? Normally they're very safe characters.

Earlier in ladder I had a dedicated Enchantress mostly for play with friends and pubbie Baal runs, and I used to enchant Necro minions, Mercs, and everyone else. It added a huge amount of fire damage (but I can't remember exact numbers--it was a couple thousand fire damage) and basically everything we were up against would die with a few hits, even in big games. Also, high level Enchant lasts a really long time.

I contemplated using her to power up my own chars, but I don't have a second copy of the game, so I didn't end up doing it. I know some other people do, though. BTW, if you do make her, I suggest getting a +3 Enchant staff from Drognan and turning it into a "Leaf." I use one on my Hydra Sorc to Enchant my Merc, so he gets a little fire and a huge AR boost.

If you did spend the time to make an Enchantress and Enchant your skellies, Might and Fanaticism would still probably be good bets. Fanaticism would make your skellies swing more quickly, delivering more fire damage over time, and your Magi shoot faster. Might would still make their physical damage formidable. If you were holding an "Infinity" Scythe or something like that or Merc has "Infinity," you could still probably use Decrepify or Amp if you chose, because the Conviction would enhance the fire damage. Lower Resist would obviously help the fire damage out even more, but I don't know whether you'd get more from using Lower Resist as your primary curse or Decrepify/Amp. (Also, you may want to check out the thread where I was trying to discuss the idea for a hypothetical build using an "Infinity" Scythe-wielding Necro + "Rift" Merc & "Rift" Iron Golem and Magi.) And you could consider an ethereal "Obedience" polearm on your Merc. If you enchanted him, he'd do extra fire damage because of the -25% enemy fire resist on "Obedience." Little used or noticed mod...

Using Enchant charges from Demon Limb would indeed be useless. Every game you'd probably have to spend a million gold to recharge it.
