I've never heard of any bugs with it.

It can be a powerful skill with sufficient points invested - apparently this wasn't really the case before 1.10. e.g. if Enchant, the synergy Warmth, and Fire Mastery are all at level 20, damage will be 74-97, +180% from the synergy = 207-271, +163% from Fire Mastery = 544-712. And then, what many people don't know (and might consider a bug, but it isn't) is that Fire Mastery adds to all fire damage you do with melee & missile attacks. So once you've enchanted yourself with this 544-712 damage, the Fire Mastery gets added again, to make it 1430-1872 damage!

Now, given that Enchant is one of those skills that adds more and more with each skill level as the levels get higher.. and the "double application" of Fire Mastery also gets more and more valuable as levels get higher.. you can see that with the skills all maxed and a bunch of +skills gear, you can get truly obscene damage.

But bear in mind that you'll pretty much be a one-element sorc - with 60 points sunk into these skills, you're not going to have any cold or lightning skill maxed & synergized - with all the vulnerability to fire immune monsters that that entails.

Check out http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/index.php?showtopic=35763 for a good Enchantress guide.

Well, technically you'd have two "elements"--the fire damage from the spell plus the physical damage from whatever weapon you happen to be using, and since you're not going to need to pump Energy for this build, that could be quite high.

I was just so happy to finally have a skill that added to AR for the sorceress (being able to make a warrior sorceress), so I maxed it for my first 1.10 sorcie. She doesn´t use Enchant for damage, she uses it for the AR bonus (I mainly use fighting against fire immunes) and because of that, I have left Warmth at level 1. Fire Mastery is maxed though, since Blaze is her main skill.

60 points in fire tree, how about rest in FO and CM?

Interesting.
Does the exploding arrow thing still get ITD?

I'm imagining a bow-using sorceress...maybe a bow that fires magic arrows...damage wouldn't even have to be that high, although it would help. Could a sorceress use a Windforce with maxed Enchant?

I think I may have to try this!

I personally like the idea of a javasorc. Enchant works on both ranged and melee weapons, so you get the best of both worlds...

Hmmm... Skystrike sorc....

:D

Infatc, Enchant is doing considerably more damage in melee than throwing. I'm sure about that, just don't know the exact numbers...
And never trust the lying character screen, you are doing much more fire dam than listed. You are doing the listed damage, multiplyed by your mastery, and when you cast Enchant on someone else(e.g. merc), he'll do the listed fire dam on your char screen.

Btw I've thought about making Enchantress, and my proejct's hidden weapon was Warshrike/razportail, 83% Pierce, this way you can deliver considerably more damage! :)

Silly me....it's all about the upgraded Buriza!

100% pierce, cold damage, huge fire dmg and AR...

I must start this this weekend. :D

Yes, yes, yes, yes......

Check out the guide or write up by Mongojerry. Fire Mastery adds to the Enchantress' damage twice, but only for her. Not for her Merc or any other character who she "Enchants". Supposedly you will do more damage in Melee than from ranged, but in SP who wants to fight in melee with the FE bug? Okay, I guess if you play SC it is no big deal.

Yes, the Demon Machine is THE ranged weapon for an Enchantress.

Thats exactly why I was asking this :)
I've recently found a kuko, but I think a demon machine would be better for a sorc.

Yep, it seems that according to Mongojerry's guide (which is so cool that I think he surely knows what he's talking about), the "double application" of Fire Mastery only applies to melee. But the LCS shows it wrongly for ranged attacks.

Pucho if this Sorc of yours is for the SPHCL I happen to have a Demon Machine in my SPHCL stash. So, kill normal Diablo and get her over level 30 (prefer close to using the DM) and it is yours. Just let me know when/if you do.

yes, its for the sphcl, actually I'm not playing outside the ladder :) i'll let you know when i get to the 30ish
actually my first idea was a zealot-enchantress, but the ranged version is cheaper & safer so...

Bloodraven's Charge : Slvl 13

Magic Arrow Slvls 1.10:

Wizendraw : Slvl 5
Whichwild String : Slvl 20
Widowmaker : Slvl 11

These Slvls only count in 1.10, so don't expect a 1.07 Raven Claw to do sick dmg in 1.07/1.08/1.09. It does count in 1.10 though
Too bad bows can't be racked, though..

* edit *

Yup, that too, Bolin.
