    Enchant + bug?

I've done a forum search on this subject, but can't find what i was looking for...

I remember there was something buggy about Enchant while using a bow/crossbow, aside from only receiving 3/4 of the damage you'd get on a melee weapon. But i don't remember exactly what. So if anyone does remember, or if anyone simply knows, please help me out? My upcoming Bowasorc needs to know... ;)

enchant on a bow/xbow gets the listed damage. melee however has your current FM lvl applied, stacking with previous FM, when you land a hit on a baddy. :D

So basically a Bowasorc wouldn't receive the added damage of FM?

It receives the FM bonus to enchant when you cast enchant. So the listed damage when you cast enchant. so it receives one lot of FM.
However when hitting in melee FM is applied when you cast enchant and also when you attack, so in effect you get a bigger FM bonus. so more fire dmg.

So there's no bug on Bow-enchant, but there is a bug on Melee-enchant instead huh? And a nice bug at that... :p

Actually IIRC the LCS shows enchant dmg as melee. Hence your getting the figures for swinging with a stick.
(Enchant base damage) * (Warmth synergy) * (Fire Mastery at time of enchanting) * (Fire Mastery at time of striking)

Ranged attacks actual dmg can be figured out like so...
(Enchant base damage) * (Warmth synergy) * (Fire Mastery at time of enchanting)
Btw, Enchant no longer suffers the 1/3rd penelty for ranged attacks.

Now I have a few choice words for your enchantress, Demon machine and razor tail. Although your not getting a second dose of FM, exploding arrows splash dmg carries your enchant dmg. peirce for obvious reasons makes this even more affective. For FI's you can always pump a given mastery (say cold) and use somthing esle on switch (say burizza) The mastery bonuses do get applied to those attacks. elemental dmg charms are also a great help.

That's what Corax said... If it was unclear, by 'listed damage' he was referring to the damage listed in the skills menu, not the LCS.

Yes auntie sidhe, ranged only gets the FM once, so it will seem rather underpowered if youve played with a melee enchantress before, but you get more style points, so that should compensate for it.
PS: whats up with the enchant fad recently? everyone is enchanting their sorcs now, but go back 6 months and a enchantress was one of those 'wacky' builds that only freaks like me and NF enjoy.

*kicks FB's butt for saying the A-word, kicks his shins, just for good measure, and for fun*

What's with the style points? I never got into that...

style points: given to more intersting and unique builds. the further from cheese the better. Low damage or purposly fragile builds are especially stylish.
Oww...my shins, and my arse, that was unfair!

I remember playing one back in v1.09, when I still spent time on b.net. I was playing co-op with this druid, and I remember him commenting on the fact that I was 'doing more than most sorcs', because I was always first into the melee. I think I got her into early Hell before AR problems brought her to a standstill, and she retired to the safe and peaceful life of a mule.

Oh, that sorta style points... Blame me for being a girl, but i thought it was more like a Sorc with a Staff instead of Orb & Shield, so more fashionlike than anything else

As for the kicking, it was fair, i've warned people not to call me the a-word. Often enough by now, too. I'm nobody's 'a-word' since my brother didn't get any children yet, so... *sticks tongue out at FB*

That would also get style points. Tis somthing different from the masses. Style points are also handed out for using uber rares vs cheesy uniques. :D

Nothing wrong wioth being an auntie. I have sort sort of distant relative who's auntie is only 2 weeks older than her, and a couple of people i know have aunties/uncles who are younger than them.
anyway, WM is the mother, which would make goltar the daddy, and corax is teh baby. AE is the retired old relative who moans alot.
