    Email chain-letters

I've been receiving email chain-letters since I started on the internet forever ago, but in the last year or so I've have more than you can shake a stick at. You know the type I mean, little Johnny is dying of cancer send him a get well email and post this message off to ten people or sometimes it's an "inspirational" story or picture that says some thing like "if you have been touched my this, share the joy and send it to your friends." Anyone notice this? Or am I just lucky?

I get that crap from my wife and my sister, probably because they just send it to all of their contacts. Aside from that I get a lot of "Inc, 500(that randomly spams email accounts as a viable way of recruiting valuable employees  ) company seeks self starters to make 10k a month" BS.

    Re: Email chain-letters

I've had my email address for at least 8 years and my wife has been an ebayer at times so my address has been floating around the ether for some time. Strangely they tend to come from people I used to communicate with, but haven't done so of a while.

@Johnny - I'll find a few people to forward it to if you like.

    Re: Email chain-letters

I told all my friends that if they would get a smack upside the head for every chain letter they sent me. The first time would be just my hand, the second time would be with a book, and the third would be with a cast iron frying pan. They got the hint. Usually.

My biggest problem was with people forwarding every single "new virus warning" mails to all their contacts. Those idiots usually needed several dope slaps before they quit.
