Well, Something was done on east between tuesday and wensday. The gold makeing "selling gringing items" dosen't work anymore. There is still a display bug with it, meaning if I have my grinding axe equipt, and move the 'sell' cursor over it, it says 35000 for the sell price, however if I actually sell it I only get 11,000 for it. To buy it back is 18000, so obviously there's no more money makeing there.

I just bring this up because I noticed the change, I don't really want this to become a 'right or wrong' conversation, just saying something was done to the east servers. I still have all of my runewords however, so nothing new there.

btw, this is Useast, softcore, non-ladder.

I hate Blizzard. They are all bastards. They fix the 'cheesy gold-earning' bug, yet they allow duping, item selling, maphack, botting, spambots, and general cheating to occur on a daily basis, without even attempting to do anything about the root problem. WoW? Forget that, this company doesn't deserve my money.

But the one thought I have is that the way Blizzard deals with the hack/cheat/etc,. situation seems to come from higher up in The chain of command in the company, the programmers are all for wiping out hacks but nothing is eve done. I bet there is an agreement or bribery of somekind between someone at Blizzard or a group of Blizzard's higher ups and some not so honest poeple out there... with money changing hands....

Blizzard is just stupid, plain and simple. There is nothing underhand or anything going on...they are just dumb. They dont think things thru, they dont plan for the future well, they dont take care of their fanbase well. Theyre just not the brightest group in the world. I cant blame that group of designers for leaving a few months back. They are the smart ones.

I know many of you love free bnet, but that was by far the stupidest thing Ive ever seen a company do. They kinda led the way with massive online gaming, and every damn company that followed them got away with charging to play. Think about it...how many people play bnet? 30K at a time thats for sure...you can proly figure there are at least 100K registered users between WC, SC and Diablo. 100K*(10$/month)*(12month/year) = 12 MIL a year they could be making off battle.net. DUMBASSES.

Anyways, sorry that was longer than I expected, bottom line...blizzard is stupid. sony is smart.

Yeah i guess this is my point to. No i'm not whining about losing my runewords (i actually haven't lost anything yet). I would be all for a fix from blizzard that SOLVED the problems, even if it meant i lost several items. I DO NOT agree with them poofing peoples items in a way that does not solve the problem.

Late last night it was working for me off and on. Some mechants yes, some no...although maybe that was normal.

I think that bugs like Grinding are a lot more easier to fix than botting and stuff like that. If you don't want bots, you probably have to include some measures in a new game (f.e. diablo 3)

It's a bit like complaining that you can cheat in Diablo 1. Of course you can, there's nothing in the game that prevents that.

...Another point :

Yesterday, while our forums were down, I got onto another Pc here at work and browsed the B.net forums alittle, there is a thread in there about the spam bots...with 60+ pages of replies...

...so what is Blizzard doing/going to do about it ?

I agree that Fixing this gold bug should have probably been at the bottom of their "Things to do List" Just to give an Idea, I had gambled for a total of about 5 or 6 Hours. Constantly filling my stash, (at about 18k per sale) then gambeling rings, amulets, bone helms, & war axes. Forget how I earned the money, like I said before, I don't really want to talk about right and wrong.

I got:
1 Very nice rare ring, dual leech, ~20 strength, huge 35% lit. res. and something else I can't remember right now.
1 Dwarf Star
1 Mandral Heal
1 Nokazan Relic amulet
1 magical zerker axe (for crafting, & the craft sucked!)
1 Very nice rare bone visage (+2 shadow dic. +% to AR per level etc.)
1 good rare grim helm, +50% to def. +2 combat (barb) etc.)

and a couple of nice +3 skill tree & 2nd mod (+35%MF, +24% all res etc.) amulets.

I have no doubt that loaded up on gold find gear I could have gathered the money and gambeled the same amount, it would have probably taken me a little longer (but I would have gotton experience and maybe a good item or 2)

In the end, I kept my grinding axe on my PvP character simply to pay for repairs etc. I always keep dying with my PvP character, so I'm always at 0 gold, and this came in handy to gain enough to repair with only a couple of sales to a merchant.

I understand that there were gold/gamble bots out there and perhaps their impact on server load or something made this exploit a higher priority for blizzard, who knows, but I really think they could have fixed much better things than this first.
