Easiest/fastest way to obtain 4 socket armor?

can't shop socketed armors after norm a2 (white socketed i mean) iirc, as it only shows you magic, but I may be wrong.

I'd say get a gothic plate from late nm or later and socket it if need be, should get 4 from nm a3 on i think

Well, the fastest way to get them is generally to find any white (or superior) gothic plate in hell mode (or act5 nightmare iirc) and use any socket quest on it, it'll get 4.

Also, its not difficult to trade for these, so you might try that.

Good luck finding one!

I haven't played this game in a few years, but I certainly don't remember it being this hard to find 4 socket armor haha...

This is my first hardcore character since my return to the game, level 51 necromancer, and with my relative inexperience and being very rusty I expect to die any time now. A future in Hell difficulty doesn't look very bright...

IF you're on East let me know. I do a lot of farming for charms in NM cows with my zon and run across those fairly regularly.

No thanks man, I prefer to work for everything myself. Totally solo, except for the occasional party with my brother. With all of these hacks abound, I trust nobody.

Can't you socket anything after norm and get max sockets?
Or am I mistaken?

I know I always get max sockets in NM A1 weapons, I don't THINK it's different for armours but I could be wrong.

Gothic Plates can spawn with or get 4 sockets after Ilvl 25 (source).

To the best of my knowledge, Ilvl = monster lvl, and monster lvl = area lvl, and the area lvl is greater than or equel to 25 by the time you've reached the Durance of Hate in Act 3 NORM.

So since you're already level 50 you must be in NM which means any white Gothic Plate that you find and give to Larzuk will end up with 4 sockets.

Good luck

...and of course I already used up my socket quest hahaha....

I have absolutely zero confidence that I'll survive another 5 level ups at best, so I blew everything, imbues, sockets, personalize, etc... you'll see the details of my necromancer's death in the fallen friends thread soon ;)

It won't take much work to get my level 19 barbarian to Act V though.

Thanks again for your help guys.

IIRC nothing can drop with >3 sockets in norm as an extra sort of restriction on norm (maybe jewelers? I forget what level jewelers is and I'm not gonna look it up >.>).

I forget the source on that, but I do know I've never, ever, seen a 4os weapon drop in normal for spirits or insights, and according to your source they should be quite possible.

I'm not sure whether or not that applies to socketing the items or not though.

Mechanic's Add 1-2 Sockets Body Armor(10), Circlets(10), Helms(10), Shields(10), Weapons(10)

Artisan's Add 3 Sockets Body Armor(33), Helms(33), Shields(33), Weapons(33)

Jeweler's Add 4 Sockets Body Armor(55), Helms(55)[3], Shields(55), Weapons(55)

You're right of course. I had forgotten about the 3 socket max restriction in Norm when I typed my response, so no way of finding one in Norm with 4. I still think however, that if you find a white item in Norm with a high enough Item Level then larzuk will still put 4 sockets in it.... that's just what I think though.

Also, since you've used up your socketing quest, there is always the socketing cube recipe. It would have something like a 25% chance of giving you 4 sockets. It's might be expensive for you though.

1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Normal Body Armor = Socketed Body Armor of same type
The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-4 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. The chance to get X sockets in most armor is 1/4 (I.E: Mage plate has a max of 3 sockets, so it has a 2/4 [1/2] chance to get 3 sockets). The base of 6 was used in the ratios for all the above mentioned areas.
It's probably moot though, because I'm sure you've found one by now, or given up.

Nah dude, still no four socket armor yet! However, I'm taking it extremely slow, still doing normal Baal runs at level 53 and occasionally braving Act II Nightmare. That recipe sucks for me, as I need the 4 socket armor for topaz and it seems to take forever to get a perfect, so no way I'm going to waste one to make the armor and then probably end up with a one socket...

I guess I'll just have to wait for one to drop.

I borrow this thread.
Which helms get 3 sockets? Some of them only have max 2 socks, but since I'm gonna put topazes in them, I really want 3. So, full helms? Circlets? Can I find a white helm and add sockets with Larzuc and still get 3?

I bought two 3 socket Great Helms in a shop, I'm thinking it was in Act V normal. I'm pretty sure Masks and Crowns have 3 sockets as well, and most of the exceptional/elite versions.

You can double check the Arreat Summit strategy guide on Blizzard's homepage for all information regarding this.
