dying Minions when Weapon Switching

dying Minions when Weapon Switching

I have a question regarding all summoning necro.

Since you have more minions when fully equiped, and less minions when you switch to another weapon ... say a CTA (with less skill points).

Under what specific circumstances do the minions die when you press 'W'?

I noticed that NOT ALL weapon switching kills your minions.

Everytime your skill go under a multiple of 3 from switching weapons, you lose a skeleton.

I'm asking because NOT ALL switching of weapons destroys the minions EVEN WHEN the skills are reduced BY THE SAME AMOUNT. ^_^

Time difference. The game needs some time to catch up with the fact that you switched.

It's not a time difference. I know because i tried using different weapon switches.

If they crumble (die) they crumble immediately. If they don't crumble then they WON'T crumble until you either shoot an arrow, hit melee, or cast a spell.

Say if you dont have RS as an actual skill. You get a wand with +1 RS and you summon 1 skeleton. Now you switch weapons. The skeleton should still be there, but if you cast/do anything it dissapears... so it doesn't really matter, its still dead.

There's the +skill issue I'm thinking he's talking about. My example is having a shrunken (voodoo?) head with +1Revive/+3PNova/+3SResist and a Spirit sword at the time. With three Revives, maxed, I exchanged the sword for Khalim's Will, broke the Orb, then re-equipped the Spirit, the entire time all three Revives stayed even though I had absolutely no hard points in the skill and in the duration the +2 from the sword was removed I destroyed the Compelling Orb.

I think there's a case to be made there's something... fishy (there, I said it) about the conditions of the 'treat as re-equipped' rule and it may need to be investigated further. Might have something to do with the Ravens from Heart of the Oak not working properly anymore (unless that's a separate bug or has been fixed).

*nods* i aggree w/ time diffrence ....... the game has hit diffrent ways for me.....

a) hit w to cta and skilles **bloop**
b) after switchin back from cta(buff done) to wand again ....skellies **bloop** then
c) skellies have survived both of the above only to **bloop** on the next attack

....main point doesn't matter ur gonna loose 'em(skellies on the switch) does it matter when? how? or the ever sooooooo present "there's gotta be a way i can buff and still keep 'em"

.....hmmmm i wish my friend but there gonna pop at some time before u can really get damge on a good monster....would be koo though

i mean look at bnet lag-a-thons and ur concerned w/ when ur skellies pop .........

If you ask me, I think it's simply sloppy coding on their part. Every time your skill lvl changes (and possibly other things too), the game is supposed to rerun its checks, but sometimes for whatever reason that check might get dropped (say interrupted, mishandled, or simply never started). Then, your skeles will stay up, until the next event make the game check happens.

As the checks are not being constantly made, your skeles might sometimes stay up for a little while.

Sorry if this is slightly ot, but how about the level of the remaining summons/revives? Do they remain at the skill level they were summoned at or the skill level after the switch. I know I can summon 15 skellies at level 36 with aokl/homon but when I switch to beast/homon I'll eventually lose 3 of them, but are the 12 remaining skellies level 32 or level 36?

Hi Ash :wink3: There's only one reason I'm asking.

I'm thinking of summoning with 1 set and switch to a Lv15 Fanaticism Faith bow when fighting. As long as I just walk around and do nothing then I can gain the effects of the bow without losing my army

The remaining skellies will remain the same lvl that you summoned them at, only the number of summons you can support will change.
