    Dying (alot) and questions.

If I die, and am surrounded by enemies, it takes me about 2 hours to get all my stuff back and about 500,000 gold pieces...

Is there any way around that? A way to get my stuff back without it taking 2 hours? If I quit the game, and use a different character to kill the bad guys do I lose my stuff?

No, you won't lose any stuff, except you already died twice and have equipment on both corpses. In that case the corpse with the items gets saved whiuch has the highest shop value. That might not be the corpse you would like to get saved, as Charsi values items drastically differently than you.

In any case, you always lose gold when dying and on nightmare and hell you lose XP as well, but you won't lose a level from dying.

    Welcome to the forums,

Do you know you can quit the game after you die, and when you rejoin any game your corpse is waiting at your feet for you when you spawn into the new game? As Krischan says, if you die more than once in a game, only the corpse that had the most expensive gear will be waiting for you in the next game. Consequently, I always try to keep my char naked until he can recover his body, or I just quit and take the exp. hit. (no exp. hit in Normal games)

ps, when you die in a big game and you drop a big pile of gold on the ground, it doesn't matter who picks it up. All gold picked up off the ground is evenly split among the "nearby" party member of the char that picks up the gold. Even though you dropped it, everybody gets a piece of it when it gets picked up again.

Wow thanks! I was pulling my hair out... it's so much easier to quit and get your stuff back... also, I dont need to keep a "spare" weapon anymore for when I die, so now I have more room in my stash too! Thanks!

What type of character are you using? That might be helpful too.

As far as I know, that doesn't count for player gold.

I'm pretty sure whoever takes that gets all of it.

If you pick 50000 gold from a player and check how much you have, you'll realize you have only a tiny part of the gold. The rest of it is all shared with the party.

    I agree with Nostavar.

Normal gold is shared, but gold dropped by a player isn't.

Haha, remember 1.08 when if you sold something to a vendor you shared the gold with the entire party? That was so horrendous that no one speaks of it anymore.

"Someone sell something, I need to repair my sword."
"n00b, why are you just standing therez? lol"
"My sword broke... Hammerman, I saw you pick up that armor, sell it already."
    *Hammerman sells armor*
"Dammit, I still don't have enough."

    Worst feature in D2 ever.

    ROFLOL that does sound horrible!

I am currently playing a bowazon, I am in act 3 in NM right now. I have a bunch of other characters too, at various levels, but this one is the highest level.
