Duriel: Hardest boss for bowzons?

Get a merc and Valk and you won't have any problems with Duriel. Can take a while but that's it.

Try Diablo. Fire novas and lightning attack can kill merc/valk pretty fast, plus he has high block %.

Nihlathak is also extremely dangerous.

Duriel once was hard

hi.

you do not need a Valk or a Act2 merc to defeat Duriel.

what you need to defeat Duriel is the skill 'SlowMonsters'. a perfect and easy to find item is 'Clegs Pincers'. use the fastest boots you can find, try for 30% or higher.

before you enter Duriels tomb, drink lots of 'thawing potions', have a tp scroll in your belt. when entering the tomb immediately cast the tp.
if Duriel homes in on you, then run in circular pattern around the tomb, keep turning and fireing at him, he will not be able to get to you because of the 'SlowMonsters'.
hopefuly Duriel will have attacked your merc, if so, then fire away at him, making sure you keep your mercs health high.

if you need to escape the tomb, then use the tp you have already cast. upon reentering the tomb, make sure you have placed another tp scroll in your belt and cast this as soon as you reenter.

Duriel, like all Bosses are Demons. so any item that give 'enhanced damage to demons' is a must for a amazon.

Diablo for his attacks, and the Iron Maiden.
Mephisto since he can't be leeched. Dolls aren't fun either, and there is a good chance that the merc doesn't even survive Bremt.

Even Andariel is giving me trouble --- her strong poison is endangering the merc quite a bit, and there have been times when the valk was dead before I was allowed to cast a new one...

I usually avoid Duriel as well; it's taking quite few potions for the merc, usually.

I haven't tried Baal with a bowazon yet, but I would suspect that Iron Maiden and the Minions are the bigger problem. In addition, my Bowazon is struggling with resists, so I don't really want to meet Black Souls...

duriel is quite manageable in hell, especially if you have a good merc and valk. however, actually getting to duriel may not be all that easy for a zon. IMO, next to the world stone keep levels, maggot's lair is the hardest for a bowazon to clear (at least for me).
Baal itself and his minions are a walk in the park if you have a good marc and valk. But, again... getting to the Throne of Destruction isn't easy with gloams and those dark souls and exploding dolls in the WSK.
Diablo is the hardest single boss for a bowazon mainly because of the lightning/fire attack which would wipe out any merc/valk (which the glass-cannon zon depends on heavily) in a sec.

I'm surprised some of you put Mephisto as hard, especially with that AI glitch where you can trap him in the upper right corner, retreat a bit lower and tape your left or right mouse button down to shoot the moron to death. You're set if there are no more minions left.

I guess I thought Duriel was hardest of the five because I'm a pure strafezon and don't care to put in valk. (Still don't, had to beat Duriel with a pure strafezon and 40+ town portals.) Note that I'm playing single player and I refuse to trade with anyone on open. (Majority of items are hacked. I play the game for fun, not to show off how many mewgood utilities I've downloaded.)

I never had any problems with any of the bosses before when I played online. (I have 25+ 5frw/3max/20ar charms. Duplicated. :D And a bunch of legit perfect and near-perfect similar ones.) Meh, you guys should try single. It's a lot more fun when you're not killing the bosses in a few hits.

I swear all boss are hard for bowzons in terms of time taken to take them down.
hi..

i gave you a clue in my previous post, but, i shall tell you.

laying of hands (gloves), and the rune-word 'edge', made in a bow, gives you 700% extra damage to Demons.
add this to your other items, and Andariel,Duriel,Mepthisto,Diablo and Baal, will die very quickly.

Where to start....

Duriel uses an aura similar to holy freeze. CBF will make no difference here

Extra damage to demons works the same way skill damage does, meaning its all lumped together. 300% off-weapon ed on a 50 average base damage bow with 100% ed ON THE BOW ITSELF will be much higher than 700% off-weapon ed on a 50 damage bow. My mind is dead right now, else I'd explain further. Stat forum guys can give you a detailed explantion.

The cleglaws/holy freeze merc/cold damage/valk idea(s) is much wiser. Doesn't hurt to toss a decoy up every once in a while either.
Laying of hands isn't a horrid idea, simply because it does some damage, as well as giving some IAS.
