    Druid Suggestions

I posted a similar thread in the druid forum, but got no reply.

Also, I have read all the druid guides, but none address my needs exactly

I want to make a fireclaw bear, possibly using an upgraded ribcracker. How much damage should I expect to do? What sort of attack rates are possible/expectable? Would it be wiser to use stormshield and a 1 handed weapon? - perhaps with fire rainbow facet jewels?

Most importantly, what should my stat/skill distribution look like? (more points in lync / wearbear or in fireclaws/synergies)?

Thanks so much Single Player forum for you suggestions!! This forum rocks :drink:

    I would think around:
    1 WB
    20 Fire Claws
    5-10 lyc
    Oak Sage at your taste
Heavy synergies (at least 40 points there)
    Recommended:
More WB and 1+ Maul - For fire immunes - grab a really heavy dmg hammer, like IK Maul.
1+ Shockwave - coolest crowd control, the best definition I heard is: "transform the enemies into living pillars of experience"
    If you wish:
    ravens for blinding
wolves/bear for meat shields - try the cool charged item synergy bonus here!
Armaggedon for using the same synergies. I tried a geddon/FC druid, but failed due to lack of enough skills. Remeber that Geddon demands all 5 points in wind skills - stupid prereqs!
Hunger - heard something about better attack speed with it, so you can maul faster the FI.

+shapeshift skills are your friend, so Jalal's Mane all the way.

Use facets only if you decide to go safe (+lyc, OS, WB), as if in hardcore. Otherwise, the synergies are enough to burn everything else.

    thanks for the reply.

Im deffinatly not touching armageddon - I think it is the crappies lvl 30 skill in the game.

prob not doing Oak sage (maybe heart of wolverine though) - I can get life elsewear, that can't be killed.

I might do grizley (something about 2 bears is kinda cool).

    thanks again :buddies:

With 50 outside IAS a Shaeled Ribcracker Stalagmite (thinking end game
here) will hit a 7-frame attack which is pretty quick and I love its mods.
You may however want to try for a 4-frame attack to really deal out a
lot of fire damage. For this build, I would recommend the Stormshield
you mentioned and a 6-socket Phase Blade with 110 IAS (4xShael and
    2xIAS jewels) for a devastating 4-frame attack.

This build is on my to do list so I would be interested to hear of your
    results.

hi there, i had the same problem and decided just to go for it  my fireclaw bear "Furball" is now lvl 62 and standing in act 5 nightmare..
    for skill i would recommend
    WB 2
    Lycan 5
Dire wolves 4 (for life bonus to the bear)
    Werebear 1
    Fireclaw Maxed
    Armegeddon Maxed
    Volcano Maxed
    Life spirit Maxed
Rest put in to the other syns..

Works great for moi, im using an upped ribby now and im doing around 4-5K damage, but i think im going to use a ias phase blade and SS(pdiamond)
Dont know exactlly how much ias i need for a 4fps attack but im going to use highlords, LoH and (if i can get my pows on it) Crown of the Ages with ed//ias or ias//res jewels in it... so im aiming for about 60% from my gear, so if anyone kow what is needed from my weapon for a 4fps attack  let me know

ow and get 1 point into Shcokwave.. thats is the best crow control you're liking to get.. ow and get lotz of + shapeshifting skill, jalal's mane works sweet too off course and skillers will be your friend

    hope it helps

like sideshowbob said, 110ias on a phase will do the trick. remember, outside ias does not count at this points. so that 60ias from eq is not needed. a 5 frame 2 hander is much better i think.

I suppose you can always put a big hard hitting maul on one weapon slot, and a fast hitting phase blade on the other. That's what I do for most of my chars (expect with fury wolf, the two hand one is at 4fps and arurewrath is for deal with the pesky wraith.
