Dreamdin - Need Opinions/Suggestions

Hi I'm thinking about making a dreamdin but before I do I was thinking about a few different options. He will mainly be for PvM and not really any PvP.

Anyways here's the three options I was trying to decide between:

Option 1 - Wearing Dream helm, shield, hand of justice weapon, and dragon chest for all the auras on myself. Act 5 merc wearing beast eth cb and other armor/helm.

Option 2 - Wearing Dream helm, shield, then like a grief pb for more damage. Get an act 5 merc and have it use Hand of Justice and Dragon chest.

Option 3 - Wearing Dream helm, shield and grief pb just like option 2 except put a ethereal beast colossus blade on my act 5 merc and some other sort of armor/helm.

Having a tough time deciding which would end up being the best overall.

Having myself wear all that aura stuff means my merc gets crazy damage from the synergized auras and beast, chains of honor and such.

Not wearing HoJ and Dragon means my damage goes up quite a bit higher, but then I decide between having my merc wear those items or just giving it a beast and CoH.

Anyways I'd appreciate any opinions from people that may have tried various things. No matter what I do it's going to be expensive and instantly a loss in value when I socket the runes into those items since not many people want them. Really trying to get a good idea of what I want before doing it all.

A final question is do my + skills affect the dream holy shock auras at all or is it just stuck at 30 and can't up it at all?

For PvM you could do options 1, 2, or 3 and be effective. I personally would go option 1 to avoid IM issues in PvM. The merc will not gain lightning or fire damage from the auras unless it is wearing the runeword items itself, meaning the same for you. Remember that option 1 will probably net you low resists in Hell, so you may need some resist charms (anni and torch help also).

You can't raise the holy shock or holy fire damage with +skill gear. Raise Resist Lightning and Resist Fire because these act as synergies to Holy Shock and Holy Fire. Just leave Holy Shock and Holy Fire at 1 point invested, if any is needed to invest at all in choosing skills.

Skill placement:
20 Resist Fire
20 Resist Lightning
20 Conviction (main aura you will use)
20 Salvation (more elemental damage and resists), OR 20 Holy Shield (more block and defense), OR 20 Charge (more speed and physical damage)
1 point wonders: Zeal

With the nice gear you have, being tempted to PvP will happen at some point for you. Maxing Charge (and maybe some in Vigor for synergy) is a fun way to boost PvP physical damage, AR, and add an element of speed in duels. Maxing Charge in PvM is not necessary. AR is always an issue in PvP for Dreamadins, so use demon limb (or the sword with enchant) for enchant or Angelic ring/ammy combo.

Thanks for the reply, didn't notice the part about only you get the + elemental damage from those auras.

Anyways I'm thinking if I take option one what would be best for an Act5 merc gear with that?

Would it be possible to have them dual wield HoJ weapons and then also give them a dragon chest so he does some crazy fire damage from the 3 stacked auras as well?

Or would sticking just like the eth beast colossus blade on him with armor like CoH and another helm do more?
