Dragon Rider class

So in D3 i think there should be a new class that involves dragon/demonic type users. By this i don't mean they run around with dragons that destroy and beat the game for you, lol. By this i mean that they are characters that as part of their backrounds have devoted their lives to learn about and become skilled in similar skills as them. They would have buffs to increase damage and a few to increase defense. Also, they would have many fire type spells, and fire bonuses to their normal attacks. Skill trees would be like:

Demonology or dragonology
Scaley skin: Increases defense by percentage
Summon baby dragon (max 5)
Summon dragonkin whelp (max 5) (need to fill Summon baby dragon)
Iron Sword: Strengthen weapon density to increase power/damage
Increase whelp:Increase damage(3%),life(1%),defense(2%) and attack power(2%) - max of 3 points
Summon minor dragon-increases dam. + def. by 2% per point(max of 5 points)
Summon mature dragon-increases damage + def by 3% per point (max of 5)
Summon superior dragon-Summons superior dragon for 60secs, destroying everything in its wake, Showing complete mastery of fire. increases dam. +def by 7% per point (max of 3)

Destruction
Fire throw: gathers small amount of fire in hands and throws at one enemy
Fire toss: Tosses a ball of fire, when it lands, it explodes and spreads across certain amount of area
Touch of fire: Lights the user on fire, doing damage to any enemies to get within certain area
Chaos flame: Large bolt of fire that destroys enemy with contact, lighting any surroinding enemies to flames
Hell Fire: Spreads waves of flames in all areas surrounding the caster, burning all that come in contact, doing damage over time. Can be continually used as long as user continues casting by holding down on mouse
Magma armor: Temporarily turns the user invinsible. User is covered in lava for 10-20 sec. All enemy to come into contact are melted for 400 damage, and 200 over 5 sec. After the armor is done or is dispelled, the caster takes 200-500 damage.
Magma Cannon: Shoots ultimate fire technique that starts as a ball of fire and explodes upon contact. It continues to spread fire after it explodes. Attacks for 500-800 contact damage and 50 damage over 5 sec

Dragon Master
Lava sword: Covers sword with lava, increasing damage by percent
Slash of fire:Jet of fire in front of caster out of weapon
Ball of flames:Shoots 3 balls of fire infront of the caster
Succombing to fire:Surrounds and traps all enemies within 20 feet of the caster within a large dome of flame for 10sec
Ticker: Shoots a ball of fire that explodes and destroys all within blast range. Increases damage and amount of balls per point (max is 5points)When maxed out, balls spread around caster
Summon mountable dragon drake:Summons rideable drake, increasing damage, life and defense by 3%. Increases speed by 20% but cannot mount in dungeons.
Increase drake:Allows drake and black destroyer to attack with fire ball and increases damage by an addtitional 3%
Dragon flight: teleport to enemy and launch firey kick
Summon mountable black destroyer: Summons rideable, flying dragon. Has multiple attacks-black flames(dark destructive flames), saphire freezing(instantly freezes enemy in place for 3sec), and stomp. Increases attack by 5% defense by 7% and life by 2%. Increases speed by 40% but cannot mount in dungeons
Metamorphasis: Caster turns into a drake-humanoid for 30sec. Gives wings and several powerful dragonic attacks. Increases attack and defense by 15% and life by 7%. Can use black flames, fire ball and succombing to fire.

Re: Dragon Rider class

prepare to be destroyed by lore fans haha.

I like the idea of dragons, but so many other people don't unless its Trag-oul. Some of these skills are cool, but things like mounts and such are just to WoWish. also I think you sohuld expand this, give it a back story to justify its dragonic afiliation.

Maybe combine Destruction and Dragon Master and then come up with another tree. Otherwise you have two trees that are mostly based around fire damage. Like combining all the summon dragons skills under one and then making a physical boosting tree.

A class based on one type of element for fighting is never a good idea... Remember the Sorceress? If you wanted to be any good you had specialize in one of the three elements, the problem with this was that when you got into Nightmare/Hell modes, some monsters where completly immune to one or more elements/physical damage/Magic damage made it practicly impossible for the sorc to do anything at the higher difficulties, nightmare was do-able but hell was nigh impossible because EVERY single monster was immune to something or other, eventually the Sorc would meet a boss immune to her element and would be defeated no problem and due to her lack of any type of physical damage, theres just nothing you could do about it.

I personally hope blizzard learns from its mistakes and dosent make it so any one class becomes impossible to solo with at a certain level of difficulty, basing class around one element of attack alone is usualy a mistake.

Who put that idea in your head. Never heard of a meteorb/blizzballer/blizzwaller?

A second thing to remember is that immunities like we know it will be out of the game.

No I never have actually lol, but because of synergies I have good reason to believe that Sorc's who concentrate there skills into one element tree have a better damage output and one that spreds there skills through out all trees wont be nearly strong enough to fight at the higher levels of difficulty

Re: Dragon Rider class

Many people post on this forum with vague ideas about a new character class, with little to no vision about the playstyle of the class. This is probably because most people, like the OP, don't think much about the games they play. It's frustrating but in the end what can one do about it?

Re: Dragon Rider class

Dragons have never appeared in Diablo before, so if they are suddenly added into the lore and game, it will not be feasible. Just plain weird.

 to this idea.

read the sin war, while i agree thumbsdown to this Dragons have apeared, or rather one dragon Trag-oul. Now I say this, no summoning dragons, no riding dragons, but dragon based abilities are ok as long as they pertain to Trag-oul alone. Much like my Dragonere class :)
