Dragon Flight question from a lvl 30 pvp kicker

I'm not sure that I understand how I should use Dragon Flight. Should I just use it as a teleportation skill and therefore keep it as a one point skill (as I have now), or should I "max" it for better damage (not that I wanna keep drogon flighting when i have completed the one needed to get where I want). Currently I have 17 skill points left along with lvl 12 DTalon (this will be higher - but as of now I'm not set on which items I should use, so I don't wanna mess anything up now), Venom, lvl 1 MB and lvl 1 WoF. So far I've been dueling in pubs and haven't had much use of MB, but will this spell be an important one against strong hlld's builds and therefore putting more skill points into it? Or is this skill more of a trapper skill to "max"? When I get a 1 sin claw I'll change it for the Steel flail I'm using right now (though I really like the ow) and go for Fade. Every spare point should go into Fade then?

To sum up the questions:

Dragon Flight lvl?
MB lvl?

1 and 1.

Steel Flail is a better weapon choice than a plain +1 Sin Claw. (Pre-buff with 2 x +2 Shadow claws - +2 Shadow +3 Venom Handscythes if you're extremely rich). Flails have range 3, and the Steel gives 50% OW - So you're pretty set there.

The other option I'm looking at is an Artisans Flail of Amplify Damage (3 shaels), along with Twitch and Deaths Combo for a total of 110 Ias (95 is Needed for 7/3 Kicks, 90 For 9 Frame trap laying. If you substitute 1 Shael in the Flail for a jewel or Eth you'll get the 9 frame traps but not 7/3 kicks). This allows you to use a high level fade for nice PDR and res. The Amp damage from the flail will also add nicely to your Kick damage. And you can get OW from an Upped Swordback.

Finally, a range 5 Weapon (Brandistocks are range 5 and -20 base), with either Amp damage and shaels, or Steel (for OW once again), is very useful vs Smiters or casters (if you don't need the res from a shield / fade)

Thx for a nice reply

I'll probbably stick with the steel flail then. What's the ias of a flail? I'm not sure that I understand a weapons base speed correctly. Wouldn't an artisan's flail with 3 x shaels along with Twitch and deaths combo result in 120% ias? Flain base speed - 10 = 10%, 3 x shaels 60%, twitch 20% death 30%.

No. You don't count Base Speed. Each base speed has a different IAS Table.

-10 Base requires 89 IAS for 9 Frame trap laying (Level 0 BoS), or 95 IAS for 7 Frame Initial Kicks (Level 0 BoS again).

Flail = -10 Base and Steel gives 25 Ias. Depending on your level of BoS depends upon how much more IAS you'll need for 7 Frame Initial Kick or 9 Frame trap laying etc.

Thx again. This is allmost embarasing :embarassed: I gotta google that german speed calculator, which I, if I had used my brain, should have remembered...

Would I be worth it to socket up gear with 15% ias jewels (the req on thoose are excactly lvl 30 right?) in order to get max speed with steel? 25 from steel, 15 from armour, 15 from shield, 30 for head along with bloodfist or other 10% ias gloves. Or would the sacrifice be too huge in order to get max speed with Fade?

I'm thinking:

Assassin circlet (I got this +2 shadow 30 fr/w what i hope will get 2 soc)
Shroud
Whistans
Bloodfist
SoE

Let me know if this is too stupid thoughts

Ias jewels are 31 req.

The German Speed calc isn't so good for sins IIRC. Using the tables in the sticky are easy enough though

if you have the time and are ricg enough i would hunt out a possably 3os Guillaume's Face as if i remember correctly a set item can have as many socs as the base item from whitch it is made (please tell me if i am wrong on this)

You are MASSIVELY wrong. And Guill is level 34 anyway.
