DR/BLOCK or just BLOCK

I'm making a boner for general pub dueling. I want to wreck people in the face as hard as possible with minimal gear changes. Should i make necro that uses ber'd stormshield for max DR and pump dex for block? or should I for get the ss and use homuculus w/ max block?

It depends a lot on what your equipment setup looks like. If you're semi-budget without good life skillers and rares, going for Stormshield might be too big of a sacrifice because you'll likely need to put a chunk of points into strength. Also, using Stormshield instead of Homunculus is gonna lower your damage a bit. You'll want a decent life pool, and if you're lacking in that department then maybe you should save the points and go for Homu.

My opinion on life, with a Stormshield maxblock build:

2000 is the absolute minimum I would bring to a duel with a maxblock bone necro. It's gonna suck, but it's enough to survive a hammer from the weaker hammerdin builds. Anything less is just not gonna cut it.

2200-2400 is a fairly good goal. It takes a lot of min-maxing, some good life skillers and a carefully balanced build.

2500+ is great, and requires optimal equipment and a perfectly built character. If you waste no stat points and have access to treasures such as max-bo cta, high-life skillers and awesome rares then you can get this kind of life (or even more). Breaking 3k is probably out of a SS mb bone necro's reach unless you sacrifice things like fhr, fcr or resists.

Thx for the good response. I do have a 6bo CTA but Im still working on life skillers. I was planning it out though and id need 4 12fhr gcs so id only be able to hold 5 lifers. Is it still worth using ss if i used that setup.

Also is it still possible to craft a +2 necro 20fcr ammy? All the ones ive seen have been dupes which i dont like to use.

One more thing. Is decrep worth getting? I've heard both Yes and No so im wondering what some of you guys think.

If you are using 4 fhr gc's your life will take a large hit. What is the rest of your gear?

Yes it is possible to craft that ammy, however, it is pretty rare. You can also try to find a +2 pnb/20fcr crafted ammy as this will expand your options and you won't really lose much from not having +2 nec.

I say decrep is worth getting, it helps stop desyncing and melee chars, but it is considered bm.

Throttle is correct you need top end gear to get 2500 life with a max block necro, mine currently has 2700-2800 life.

Im confused as well, so whats the answer to this question, DR/MB or just MB? does it depend on the rest of your gearz?

Really you should be going for DR and mb if you want max block. However, you need some pretty good gear to not sacrifice too much life.
