    Double unique?

I've been playing diablo 2 since it came out and the impossible just happend to me today.

I was playing in nightmare act 5 with my lvl82 LF javazon using a Titan's Revenge (unique ceremonial javelin)

i run up to this tomb like thing (chest) and out drops a gold item and it read ceremonial javelin.

i was thinking "oh i guess there they made another unique javelin since 1.10"
when i identified it , i got the shock of my life. it was a titan's revenge.

wait a minute. i thought uniques can't drop if you're already holding it (in the game).

    just plain weird.

has anyone had a similar experience?

    - oh and totally unrelated. i also got my very first green item (naj circlet) from gambling, also today. (removed my scepticism about being able to gamble uniques and sets since the later patches. never gotten a unique yet! )

Any unique or set item can still drop regardless if you are already have them.

I believe the rule about double unique is:
the same unique cannot drop twice in the same game

One exception to the above (afaik) :
They can drop at the exact same time.

Other than that, they can only drop once in a game session.

Just what you're wearing at the time is irrevelant.

apparently i misunderstood the unique drop rule.

so all those times i removed my stone of jordan from my character because i was MF'ing for one was a waste of plus to skills!

dang, and i've been following that train of thought since day one, ouch!

so you guys mean that even if all 8 players were wearing a stone of jordan then there is still a chance for dropping a max of 1 sof in that game?

this changes everything for me (concerning equipment choice).

    thanks

Hey, you guys sure about that rule? I'm fairly sure that I've seen two Culwen's Points drop in the same game session.

    I'm SP if that matters.

It shouldn't be able to happen, unless it's from the same drop.

I think back in the Classic days you couldn't find a specific unique you were wearing...so if you had a Nagelring+Manald Heal on your character, every unique ring you found would be a SOJ...But this doesn't apply anymore.

As far as I know, that happened in D2 classic, Pre-1.08 patch... That's why people allways carried a Manald and a Nagel when mfinding, so if a unique ring dropped, it would allways be a soj

This no longuer happens in 1.10

Any item can drop regardless of what you wear. The only "drop rulle" is that 1 unique item can only drop once in the same game unless it's in the same drop. (Or if the game "bugs".. Oh wait, silly me..we all know that D2 is a completely "bug-free" game...or not)
