Has anyone used doom on a windy for the holy freeze against melees, and the -60 cold resist/2 all skills? I've been trying this out in public duel games lately and found my hurricane surprisingly gets many kills on its own for this reason, and when I land on someone the slow from freeze keeps them from walking my tornados too easily. It really shines when someone like a WW barb or smiter gets close enough to attack me, as they do quite a bit less damage due to the attack rate drop.

I was wondering what you guys think about this, the cons and pros.

most people dont use it cause its a melee weapon, aka it lacks fcr which is important. Unless you can make up for the fcr somewhere else.

people hate on holy freeze as well and call it BM.

Its a great weapon indeed

If u do pubs with this thing its one of the best weapons imo for windy. BM doesnt exist there

People call anything that can defeat them as "bad manners" items. The fact that people have to ask you to weaken your character so they can beat you is laughable. That would only encourage me to use it more against them and make them whine. No one can provide a definition of "bad manners" and everyone's definition is basically anything that can beat them is bad manners. Screw that noise. I suppose this is the point where someone explains to me where some items can make it so you absorb a class completely so they can't even do any damage. Well, this is why D2 people is a joke. Some classes can be absorbed completely, some can't. It's not balanced at all.

I say you use a doom poleaxe and force them to make less crappy characters and cry more about their poor decisions.

You, sir, just lost the thread with that. Shame, you were making since too.

In other news, Doom is great for characters who like to desynch. So it's most effective against, say, a Bowa. Against Barbs it's okay if they don't WW properly. Else you're sitting in their hit check range for a longer duration and actually taking more hits. Smiters usually stack IAS against Doom users anyways so all you'll be doing is slowing down their Charge slightly.

I didn't realize this was a competition to win the thread. I'm just encouraging him to equip his character and play it the way he wants to, rather then worry about what other people will say. I meant to say that D2 PVP (not D2 people) is a joke because it is unbalanced. Thus, don't worry about "bad manners" crap, since it is inherently unavoidable. Play to win within the game mechanics and let everyone else whine if they choose to play weak characters.

although, a poleaxe would be a pretty bad choise... why not go 1-handed instead? :laugh:

I dunno about your rational though... if you can be sorbed that means your weak? I've lossed to 22k fb sorcs dude, with almost full sorb on. They'd use 50k+ meteors and turn the field into an inferno
If he grabbed his Infinity merc too... that'd be within the games mechanics ... or juv, is that free game? just giving you a hard time, but u see what I mean there's gotta be some boundaries otherwise it's just unfun

I have no problem with Doom btw. It is a fav of mine but there is a balance to the game, you lose 40% fcr and a ton of resists/life... so you may gain a lot of control u lose killing speed against the faster casters though and you're more vulnerable.:tongue:

some things are universally accepted as bm, sorb/stack to the point that they do no damage, hacks,nking, using obviously broken skills(slow missle vs projectilers), blessed cheesehammer (jk!!).
