Doom on Hammerdin?

Doom on Hammerdin?

Has anyone ever tried it? I was thinking about getting a doom to use vs defensive trappers, extremely fast zons.. Maybe vs smiters once in a while :rolleyes:

For what purpose? Doom doesn't gain you anything. If you want to use HF, just spend a point on HF. I think if you give up FCR, you die.

The thing about doom is, I can still have conc/vigor active. I think it would be easier to lock a defensive char when they move slower, also giving them less time to escape from a hammer field. I don't have a doom, and only have a BvB Barb, so buying a Doom and then finding out is crap would be a waste of HRs for me.. If ANYONE ever tried it, please share your experiences :smiley:

Maybe I should rephrase my question: Does doom give a bigger advantage then a piece of absorb? (vs Trappers/Javazons)

doom is good against bvcs if you can hit enough fcr. slows ww, slows down bow speed if they use it, and yea grief+hl is always better than doom, you can charge/smite w/e

you can use that only on chars that rely on frw i.e zon (assuming its not a tele zon) and barb(if they use fortitude) pretty much makes doom useless imo

Bad idea. One of the BvC experts could explain it alot better but I'll give it a shot. If I remember correctly the slower a barb moves while whirlwinding will increase the number of hits he is able to land on your character. I'm not sure if this is correct but I believe it is.

Someone correct me if I'm off my rocker.

what you say is true, except no good hdin will get hit easily , doom is just there for freezing the barb to get hit by hammers more easy and to counter widow maker

i suppose that most of the elemental characters you duel are sorcs/sins/zons. they all have lesser life compared to other characters such as barbs and pallys. unless you runs into a foh, which is another story all together. so anyways, doom is good if you are charging and staying on charge, for example without a weap sorb i can still take no damage from a 22k fireball. i tried ;) so it just comes down to the weapon, are you going to charge the crap out of casters, or are you gonna charge to them and then hammer. either way, having doom on you when you tele you still have the hf aura, which is a good bonus, even if you are dueling a sorc, they have to tele and cannot run because there frozen. well if anyone do use hammers against casters it'll probably take longer to kill than if you use charge. never the less, doom has a good damage, and if you want to make a hammer that owns whole games, you should get a doom for your charge weapon instead of greif, in case you are in a game with both a caster and a runner. and as the guide above me said, you can still acheive 125 fc with a 35spirit 10fc ammy or a 25 spirit 20fc ammy. what i don't know right now is that if you use grief, do you lose resist and below max? for example hoto gives 37 res all, so unless you are dueling one on with with one character, and you can use stack on boots, and that should give you more than enough for res against fire or lightning. (cold isnt really that impressive i don't know why, so little cold sorc now a days..)
