doom for -cold resistance

    doom for -cold resistance

    wouldnt doom add tons to cold damage? death's is +3 to skills and -30% and doom is +2 to skills and can be -60%

    Is there something im missing out on?

    -60% is a big number by itself, but coupled with cold mastery, it's usually a waste since cold resist is capped at -100%. DF, on the other hand, gives a big boost to cold damage, which cannot be easily achieved otherwise, so DF is definitely better for cold sorcs. For other chars using cold damage though (e.g. frost zealot), doom is not a bad choice (and DF is not usable by non-sorc anyway:smiley:).
