Ok can someone try to explain MDR & DR in gear for a PVP chr.

Exmple: If a chr has MDR in gear does it include all elemental and mgic and also how does it effect the chr in a duel.

Example:

Poisonmancer poisons you and you go to 1 life but you have on MDR in gear.

at one life teeth, etc. will not kill the chr yet another poison nova will.???

Also does this mean that if you have DR in gear "physical??" what does that mean in general.

I have ben thinking about this and am sorta lost on the PVP aspects

MDR works on all magical attacks except poison.
DR works on all non-magical attacks.

It works by reducing the damage with the fallowing order:

17% PvP
Energy Shield if any
Bone /Cyclone Armor if any
DR and MDR
Resistances
% Absorb
Plain Absorb

So does this mean if a player has MDR from an item and a necro uses teeth, etc. "magic damage" the teeth will not kill that chr??

The reason I ask is that I tested a low lvl teeth on my barb in game wearing only a Gladiator's bane and my teeth damage was more then 20 on my poison necro.

Example

Necro poisons barb to 1 life. Spams teeth but my barb will not die. Teeth can not be blocked (I hope I am correct) so If a chr has 20 MDR from bane and I can not hurt the barb I assume that means my teeth must do 20 x 7 PVP penalty) or like 140 + 1 damage from teeth. Anything lower will not hurt a the barb in the example since he is absorbing 20 x 7 magic damage. Just trying to figure this out.

This also makes a low lvl fire golem worthless for the last hit kill for the one point.

Is this correct

Actually the PvP penalty is 1/6 so if the barb has 20 MDR any magical damage, besides poison, that is <= 20*6 will be negated.

PDR works on all physical damage besides open wounds and crushing blow.

Poison, open wounds, or crushing blow will not kill you on their own.

PvP penalty is 17%. 1/6th is only an approximation for easy calculations.

PDR works on all physical damage besides open wounds and crushing blow.
Both aren't physical dmg. CB is reduced by a positive physical resistance, but it's still nothing more than a percentual reduction of the victim's life.
