    Does "Steel" work in claws?

As it says. From the description:

    Steel
    TirEl
    Tir (3) + El (1)
    Works: Sword, Axe, Mace
Doesn't work: Maul, Great Maul, War Hammer

    it won't. Can anybody confirm?

it wont as claws are in a seperate category. its not a sword, axe or mace, so wont work. deosnt work means that they are in the correct classes, but wont accept the runeword.

'Malice' Is a nice Runeword for claws.

My trapper used one until her traps were capable of killing easily, and where she could cast them without being completely depleted of mana.

Agreed. "Strength" ought to work too, no? Great for kicksins, that +20 strength can mean quite a bit more damage output.

'Kay, how does the life drain on Malice work out in practice? Is that a problem?
And on Strength: Don't have an amn, probably won't get one in the near future (Untwinked assy in Act-5 normal). But that seems nice, yes...

life drain is the opposite to life regeneration. life drian -5 means you lose life at the rate of 5 (about 1 every 2 secs), if you have life regeneration of 5 then you will gain or lose nothing, any more and you will gain life.

Yup - for ever +/- in regen / drain it equates to 1/11 hp per second.

so -5 drain = -5/11 HP per second.

No, its drains 25/256 life per second, not 1/11th, better double check your sources :)
