Does HF merc cause shattering (thus no DS corpses)?

pretty straightforward. As a lover of DS and corpse blasting, I'd very much like to know

 

IIRC no, or, it's just the basic 1 in 3 chance (or whatever it is) of a chilled monster (they're chilled very briefly with HF) shattering, so it really wouldn't cause a problem. I don't use mercs often and it's been a while.

 

HF will cause cold damage, and thus chill the monster, giving a chance to shatter when killed. I think it's the 1 in 3 like Phesto said.

Cold immunes, on the other hand, have the innate Cannot Be Frozen, so will not shatter when you kill it, no matter how hard you try. They will be slowed however, since HF slows as well as deal cold damage.

I haven't properly tested, but the "chilled" status, when caused by HF, wears off instantly when you move out of the HF range.
