Jpop? Music of Japan?
only in commercials.
Only in anime themes.
I mostly listen to talk radio in the car, but my musical tastes are somewhat eclectic. I like (in no particular order):
Classic rock (the who, supertramp, zeplin, etc)
Bad 80's tunes--especially if i can sing along.
Prog Rock (Journey REM etc)
90's boy bands (I was a teen in the 90's, forgive me, but I know all the words, to all the songs.)
90% of the soundtracks from FIFA - they always pick great tunes for FIFA soundtracks
Anything Michael Jackson ever sang. Troof.
Jumble up all of that, then throw in some random crap (I have the bee gees on my pandora) and it's guaranteed to annoy someone. So I pretty much don't ever pick the music unless I'm alone.
Yeah I do brah, I used to listen to a **** ton of it back in high school when I was all up in dat anime and all about dat Jap-culture, what what.
Now, not so much but still do put it on every now and then.
I'm subjected to endless rivers of the stuff thanks to a friend of mine. Do I like it? Eh, some of it is okay but like a lot of pop music in general, it's highly disposable fluff. I like their metal far better.
So, which Jpop artists stick to my bones, so to speak? Looking through my library, I'm not even 100% sure which artists can even be classified as Jpop. Does Akino Arai count? Yoko Kanno?
Do As Infinity
Dir En Grey
am I on or off-topic with this?
I like this OK
but would prefer to see a well done CGI of any of 100 dead singers I could name starting with Brother Ray.
But that may just be my Nationalism showing...
Nah! On honest reflection by comparison JPop is Crap and you know it.
Japanese music may not be original but they still create one of the best melodies in the world.
