I haven't been there for about a year now, since virtually everyone has some sort of cheat. Last night was bored (no hell baal run games :( ), and went on there once with my bonemancer. There is a guy just going around handling out free stuff. He gave me a small charm which transform character into that vampire thingy, but is strictly visual only though (along with the slow cast rate), no stats boost. Ofcourse I ditched it as soon as I logged off.

I wouldn't be supprised if that charm also read all your bank account numbers and the rest of your personal information. :spy:

I think that playing Open-bnet is like asking for some kind of nasty venerial disease like the  so no, I do not go there...ever.

Never did, never will, I think.
D2 is just not the game I'd choose for online mayhem, I enjoy UT/Quake/Half-life much more in multiplayer.

    Why should anyone go there?

That damned place is now only a playground for kids who want to play online with ultimately hacked chars.

It could have been better place but, you know, thats what people are

Ask the router manufacture how to open port on it, Diablo need TCP/UDP port 4000 and 6000 something, should be in the support FAQ.

Why would you play on open Bnet in the first place. Better yet, why did Bliz even create open Bnet when there is TC/IP games?

Probably one good thing about open is a hosting ground for PvP battles for us SP-ers... Otherwise the hosting party would have the advantage of a lagless battle.

Can't remember, look on blizzard tech support FAQ. My firewall is much easier to config so I didn't need it.

I cannot stand open battle.net, because it suffers from the same old problems as the battle.net realms. Most Diablo players may complain about cheating, but that is not my problem with any part of b.net. It is the general acceptance of the internet jargon that keeps me away from there. Anyone who writes with the novice abilities that they do on b.net has my immediate disrespect. It makes me feel sick to the core that anyone could be that lazy.

If the majority of the SPF ever starts talking in that language, I will leave here instantly. I got better things to do than deal with people who are too lazy to post a sensible reply.

With that all said, I must indicate that I do not disrespect non-native english speakers who try to write their best in english. In fact, they have my upmost respect for trying even if it turns out into a ugly mess (I always remind myself how my spanish looks when I write it ;) ).

Like most others, not now, not ever. Many of my old D&D friends do and pity me because I don't. *D2 was designed for Bnet, if your not playing Bnet your only half playing the game.* I get this all the time and it makes me sick.

Well it's true - if you aren't having to deal with the spambots, duped/hacked items, SoJ economy, trigger PKers, etc. then you're only doing the 'playing the game' bit. So in fact you're missing out on almost 80% of D2!

Oh, and I haven't touched Open Bnet.
